oldsoprano
Thumbs down for wanting kids to experience World Class DCI. Hm... No, the kids obviously already know about World Class DCI. It was a thumbs down for your suggestion that they shouldn't be advised of the other LOCAL options for someone who wants to perform in a drum and bugle corps, that's all.

Local>WC DCI?! They're already marching in school. World Class DCI is a better experience than any other experience. Rifuarian
Local>WC DCI?! They're already marching in school. World Class DCI is a better experience than any other experience. Seriously, why do you have such a bee up your ### about senior corps? You're normally an intelligent poster, this kind of idiocy is unbecoming. WC corps is certainly a unique experience, ideal for a young person . . . but not everyone can make the cut, not everyone can afford it, not everyone can travel long distances to march the next closest WC corps. I know many kids who have had the same life-changing summers in senior corps that you and I have had in junior corps. Don't degrade their experience. It's pathetic.
Vanguard07
Local>WC DCI?! They're already marching in school. World Class DCI is a better experience than any other experience. Money issues account for a lot of students auditioning for local corps only instead of traveling great distances and spending boatloads of money to march a California corps. For a student in the southeast, there are only 3 WC corps that one can realistically march, whereas there are probably close to 10 DCA/"local" corps. These local corps can be a huge learning experience for less experienced students and should not be written off so easily!
