scottgordon
Next location is also from 1971. We have Troopers. Here are three angles: http://ecs.csus.edu/~gordonvs/photos/corps/loc2a.jpg http://ecs.csus.edu/~gordonvs/photos/corps/loc2b.jpg http://ecs.csus.edu/~gordonvs/photos/corps/loc2c.jpg A rather major HINT on this location just occurred to me... of all the videos I have of the 1971 Troopers, this is the only one where, during the concert, they do a comedy bit with two contra players "riding" their horns like a horse race. And someone shoots someone with a cap gun at the end. Does that help narrow things down?

The caps are a daytime show, no back stands. Gotta be the Danny Thomas on July 18. I remember 27th arriving in their own cars and changing in the parking lot - visible from the stands. scottgordon
Yes. I saw the Wm Tell bit, and I only saw the Troopers one weekend that year, in Massachusetts. Ok, that's helps narrow things down - I might be able to squeeze it further using that and the dates on the other shows. The caps are a daytime show, no back stands. Gotta be the Danny Thomas on July 18. I remember 27th arriving in their own cars and changing in the parking lot - visible from the stands. I have a tape of the Troopers from the same year, in a box marked "Danny Thomas", and the setting doesn't match. I'll try and post a screencap of that show, in case that one was mismarked. It's possible for evening shows to be in daylight, since in July the sun doesn't go down until 9pm.
