Does anyone else remember the early days of DCI when a smaller venue (University of Colorado at Boulder Folsom Stadium) was used for prelims-semis. Only Finals was at the NFL stadium in Denver. And that's back when DCI prelims had to be a two day event because of more corps. The reason for the site shift was due to Denver scheduling but budgetary factors and attendance projections were also considered. ( I served on one of the contest subcommittees for those shows.) Would these attendance figures for 2013 herald a need to return to that sort of arrangement.? P.S. The montage taken of 2013 Champs may not be the best marketing device because almost no spectators are ever seen but plenty of empty (endzone and 10/20 yardline) seats. If someone not physically present for the show at Indy saw the vids, they would be moved to agree with the OP. Better camera angles might help.
