Baritone Boy
Hi Guys, I play in an Alumni in the UK, playing G Bugles, I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the Navy Hymn, as played by the Devs and Crown this year, at Riverside, and Omaha. Thanks
ironlips
Hi Guys, I play in an Alumni in the UK, playing G Bugles, I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the Navy Hymn, as played by the Devs and Crown this year, at Riverside, and Omaha. Thanks Baritone Boy, That version was for Bb and F bugles, not G. However, the original arrangement by Jim Ott was scored for G, of course. I'd suggest you contact Bonnie Ott Thompson of the Jim Ott Brass Ensemble (JOBE). As his sister, she is the custodian of all his music. Another G bugle version was played by the US Naval Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Contact their Civilian Director, Jeff Weir, for that one. Good luck. corbomite1512.2
The Freelancers Mini Corps played Navel Hymn for warmup this past weekend. They use G Bugles. Or at least their baritone section does as I saw some two valves there.
Jeff and Carol Garrett
Yes we do Play the Naval Hymn. And yes, all of our brass play real "G" Bugles, both 2 and 3 valve Kanstul's, King's, Deg's and a few Dynasty's.
