Vic B
Hi Everyone, My name is Vic and I live in New Jersey. The reason I joined this forum is because I came across an instrument that is a bit odd and I really can't find much about it. I figured some of you might actually know. I myself to not play in a marching band (although I do play several instruments). This instrument is some kind of horn. It's a KING K60. It's odd in that it only has two valves. Through my research, it seems to be a Bugle with valves. Has anyone heard of it? Does anyone know what it's worth?

You have in your possession a two valve French horn bugle, designed and manufactured in the early to mid 1980s. You can read a thread about King bugles posted years ago on Drum Corps Planet here - There was also a recent eBay posting of a King K-60 which sold for $100 US. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194236973731?hash=item2d396d02a3:g:hSwAAOSw6m1gz3hO These horns were in use by DCI junior corps up through the 90s, including by my own drum corps, the Toledo Glassmen. We purchased a set of these horns in 1994 to add a new layer to our sound.
