DRUMMER
Can anyone give me any advice on tuning a concert bass for outdoor marching season. I am looking for the boom and projection the DCI corps get from their concert bass. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

woogie
From my experience as a pit member tuning concert bass heads over the last few summers...I've been taught a few different methods....well not really methods...but the batter head should be tuned to a relatively low note...i'm a big fan of tuning it down to a D or even D#...i've had pit techs who like them as low as C...but whatever you do...make it sound nice all around in front of the drum....then have some one hit it while you sit in the bleachers...to make sure you can feel it.
