St_Marys64
I realized after posting that the composer, Burt Bacharach, had already been ID'd.Mr. Denon was an icon among arrangers. I think of him as the J.S. Bach of Drum Corps, the culmination of a particular style that began with Jim Donnelly and St. Vinny's. The help he had on TLT was from Mr. Shellmer, who most likely suggested the tune in the first instance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First, I would like to thank all of you, for participating in the Inaugural “ Golden Turkey Awards” The rules committee has determined the contest will be a “NO PENALTY ZONE” wouldn't want anyone, still complaining 30 years later. The 2004 TURKEY Caption Awards are as follows TOP COLOR GUARD ...............BOSTON1977 TOP BRASS............................PTR250 TOP PERCUSSION ...................BOSTON 1977 TOP VISUAL...........................PTR250 TOP GENERAL EFFECT.............BOSTON 1977 BEST DM................................BOSTON 1977 THE TOP THREE SCORES The 2004 Bronze Turkey Medal with a score of 93.2727 goes to.................... ORPHEUS The 2004 Silver Turkey Medal with a score of 99.2726 goes to..................... PTR250 The 2004 Gold Turkey Medal with a score of 99.2727 goes to .................BOSTON 1977 Please note we are currently awaiting conformation from all the corporate sponsors,to help fund the cost of the final turkey awards presentation. I will, at the very least, donate a Turkey to one of the local homeless shelters, in the winners name. Our “Marketing Team” is currently trying to work with DCI to make this historic presentation in Boston, at the DCI Finals. The corps have express, some concerns, with our final presentation concept. We had hoped, to have five thousand Golden Turkeys,do a precision choreographed “Flyover” spelling out all the finalist names, and ending in the World Renowned Golden Turkey Logo, final details are still being worked out. It was a very tough season, and I want to thank my staff, and members for hanging in. As you know, we made a lot of changes the last week of the season. Brining Conquest back, did have some people quite concerned. But hearing the audience reaction was well worth it. or as they say.......... PRICELESS By the way IronLips, !!_!_!!! = Conquest ! ptr250
I’m tempted to file a protest! Is this an East Coast conspiracy? First the Pats, then the Red Sox and what about Kerry, (oh yea he lost (another conspiracy))? Now Boston 1977! Oh well in the spirit of the season I’ll let it pass. Have a great Christmas and New Year! Paul

ironlips
Boston 1977, Thanks for keeping me on my toes. I remember spending countless hours trying to cop Jimmy C's solo off that LP, but nobody could play it like him. I've got to get him to DCA I&E next summer. He'll teach everybody a lesson.
