elementwrx
FUSION press release Austin, Texas – As the FUSION sponsored corps made the 10 hour trek back to Austin, we reflected back on what a successful season we had. In division 1, Machine, coldfusion, and wongbong placed 4th, 5th and 6th respectively, and also increased their scores from the past season. In division 2, aerofusion went undefeated for all of the regular season shows, and placed a disappointing 3rd at finals. The corps though, rallied around their loss, and did what no other Division 2 corps had ever done – make the Division 1 semi-finals. Aerofusion was the only corps all week to compete five times! Hydrofusion exceeded all of our expectations and placed second in Division 3 competition. Our Summer Brass and Percussion ensemble, fusion jr, even performed in exhibition at two shows Many lessons were learned this winter season in terms of leadership. With so many reorganization going on at the top, this was a sort of test-drive for the organization, and yesterday night we already had our first board meeting. Discussed were a some of the DCP-I rules proposals that FUSION director, Marcelo Somers, was submitting, and currently discussing. Out funds were also discussed. Our huge parent organization is currently bringing in enough funds to expand even more. We started a year ago with two corps, and are now ready to expand beyond our current five. After securing more deals with Yamaha who already provides brass instruments to all five of our corps, we are ready to expand. The Pearl Drum Corporation is also finishing negotiations with us to provide us with our Percussion instruments. So with all that aside, what can you expect from FUSION this upcoming summer? Well, the executive board has decided to expand the current organization to an unprecedented SEVEN corps and one exhibition unit. This will be the following organization: Division 1 - Machine - wongbong - coldfusion Division 2 - aerofusion - oxygen X *NEW* Division 3 - hydrofusion - double-helix *NEW* Exhibition - fusion jr We will be holding our first combined audition camp in two weekends. No show details are finalized yet, but should be released around the time that the DCP-I Rules Congress convenes. We hope for another successful season, and watch out for more announcements coming soon, especially regarding the senior corps circuit!
