More to the point, like Armstrong, Miles and Dizzy, he changed horn playing forever. My personal congratulations to Ken Petersen whom I have known from my earliest drum corps days forty years ago! Hey, does anyone know if it was Jimmy Maldonado who played the solo before concert (Three Blind Mice) with St. Rita's Brassmen in the early 70's? I always admired that as one sweet solo!
