pollorball20000
Hello everyone I have been on these fourms for quite sometime. I see that many people have a vast knowledge about the drum coprs activity. I would like to know from as many people as possiable, what do you think corps are looking for when they aduition you. Shuch as which do you think they look more for is it your ability to play or the attitude that you carry. Are there any pointers that you can give to me about what to expect in the audition process. I will be auditioning for the Cadets for the quad spot this coming November. If anyone has any specific insite about the Cadets percussion program like what should I expect, and what sould be expected of me. Also what should be included in my solo. Please feel free to share any of your auditioning story with me weather it be with the Cadets another corps it dosent matter to you if you play a horn or if you are in guard. Any info or advice that you give to me will be greatly appreciated.
Leland
The one thing they're looking for more than anything else is how easily you can be taught. You can come in there with godlike chops, but if you give them an arrogant attitude, don't listen to instruction, or just aren't flexible enough to quickly implement their instructions, they won't want to spend every waking hour with you on tour. bluecoats88
also - listen to what they say, go home and work on it then come back (that is the key) and keep coming back until they tell you not to come back. never cut yourself. Unless they tell you you aren't good enough then they obviously see something they like so keep practicing and getting better between camps. if they see you working hard and improving (and with a good attitude) then you will have a good shot. Just don't stop going unless they tell you to stop coming.
