MelloHorn13 Posted October 15, 2005 Share Posted October 15, 2005 A.I. (Americanos Indoor) is a new WGI (Winter Guard International) indoor marching percussion ensemble based out of Romeoville IL. This ensemble is comprised of all marching percussion and mallet concert percussion. We will be holding auditions for this ensemble on the weekend of Dec. 2 6pm- Dec. 4 Sun 12pm at Romeoville High School in Romeoville IL. check in will be between 6-7pm. The Ensemble is planning to travel to at least five other states to compete in the competitive class of Independent A . Are goal is to attain a high level of musicianship, and educate young developing percussionist. More information on the activity can be found at www.WGI.org Marching battery open positions Several positions open in each musical voice Snares Tenors (quad/Quint drums) Bass Drums Cymbals Front Ensemble open positions All positions open in each musical voice Timpani ( for audition please prepare a solo work of your choice showcasing, various tunings and technique) Marimba (prepare major and minor scales, audition peace will be sent upon request) Vibes (prepare major and minor scales, audition peace will be sent upon request) Xylophone(prepare major and minor scales, audition peace will be sent upon request) Aux. Percussion(for audition prepare a multi-percussion solo) Piano/keyboard (for audition prepare a solo work of your choice) Electric bass player (for audition prepare a walking bass line, and melody line of choice) Camp will begin with a mandatory informational meeting at 7pm about the organization on Dec. 2nd for all prospective members and their parents./guardian. This meeting will cover member dues, schedules, show music/show design etc. Once check-in and the meeting are finished we will continue with the rest of the audition camp. Pre-Audition Registration If you are planning on attending the audition camp please E-mail the following: Name/age/ year in school address/e-mail address/auditioning instrument(If more than one please list also)/ School that you are attending/are you taking lessons, if so who is your teacher/marching experience and other musical experiences/ how long have you been playing? DEC 2nd- 4th Drum that you are auditioning on(snare drum, tenors, bass drums, cymbals) Sticks/Mallets (key board players bring 2 pairs of mallets for 4 mallet work and a separate pair for 2 mallet work)If you do not know 4 mallets that is fine Please Still attend! Sleeping Bag/ shower things Comfortable marching clothes (No jeans any one) Mandatory audition fee of $25.00(cash only please) Hope to see you at camp on Dec 2nd to Dec. 4th!!!
