paparazzi
Under the blazing Arizona sun, the founding members of Hot City gathered today for our first rehearsal. This is a brand new minicorps based in Phoenix and is the brainchild of old school drummer, Patrick Sweeney. Though only a small group, the lack of size was more than made up for by the enthusiasm of the members (and we all know what can happen with just 7 guys and a ham sandwich!). Hot City worked on our first chart, the Don Ellis arrangement of Conquistador, and yes Virginia, there were plenty of smiles to be seen. As the name implies, look for Hot City to help get your groove on with rockin' tunes and a fun in the sun attitude. And of course, you'll see us in Rochester for the minicorps competition. Other performances will be announced later. We're still looking for additional members to join us and share in the fun. Remember all you Arizona Jr. corps members, drum corps doesn't have to end when you turn 21! And if you're a little bit older (heck, even if you're a lot older), come check us out.
