Snapettes Mom
Mobbing is a common accurance in the working world and I would think in drum corps as well. Mobbing is when a boss or higher up in an organization gets select employees to work together to undermine the success of an over achieving employee. The boss may be jeolouse or threatened and cordinates relentless small pyhological attacks to wear down the employee and remove them by pressure or even totally destroy their reputation and career. Have you had a personal simular experience or have been a witness to something like mobbing while member or staff in a drum corps? It could be ie. BOD vs. Director. Horn Staff vs. Designer. Outstanding performer vs. section. Crowd vs. corps. Mom
LancerFi
There were a few grunts when Zingali would pull 2 from the guard in front of the corps (winter of 78 into 79) to show how marking time was done, without the heel almost not hitting the ground as well as the heel toe deal, we got used to it....same everytime so I believe it was just understood. As well, in 76 & 77 when the newer members were asked to make up equipment work, the longer term veterans just had to live with it....but there were mutters, however when the instructors are the ones doing the choosing you can complain all you want....but... to no avail!!! :P
