Otaconsps
I have this Guitar tuner by Fender and I was wondering if you think it'll work for my trumpet/sop. Any ideas?
SopChick9903
I have tried a guitar tuner and have found that a chromatic tuner works best. You can buy them pretty cheap, too....
John Schmitt
As far as the tuner telling you if you're sharp or flat, there's no disadvantage I'm aware of. If it's not a chromatic tuner you're limited as to which notes you can tune of course.
Edith_in_LA
How does your average chromatic tuner work with a key of G soprano? I was in the music store yesterday and they had one that you could choose either the key of C, Bb, or F, but how would you use a tuner like that for a G soprano? Do you have to pick a note on the tuner for Bb or C or F and then transpose the note you play into it with the G sop?
Dave
I think you should just leave it set on C; I believe that should leave the notes showing as "concert pitch," so if you play a C on a G bugle, the tuner will say it's G.
Jimisback
A strobe tuner is the best I know of. But these days they are far better than the old ones. I would say any tuner that has the note you want to tune to is fine.
