Recommended Posts

......and Tom, don't forget what an important day September 19th is............it's National Talk Like a Pirate Day!!!

AAArrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh me buckos!!!!!!!!!!!

A good public relations manager checks the accuracy of his work and corrects misinformation that he inadvertently puts into the public stream.

Mea culpa. :worthy:

While I might be a competent public relations manager, I think I've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm absolutely lousy at math! I went to all this trouble to research interesting factoids about 66 and it wasn't even 66 days until MEMBERSHIP DAY 2007. There are 69 days as of today. I ran out of fingers and toes, I guess, and panicked. And I quoted the material above just to make sure my penance to all of you was public. If my mother read DCP she'd hang her head in shame.

So, to update everyone . . .

I'll leave it to others to come up with witty, literary stylings worthy of this wonderful occasion.

But if you're looking to celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day, why not do so by planning to attend Membership Day 2007 on November 26? It's gonna be a GREAT year to be a Buccaneer!

Jim,

To answer your question....

1. Sling him in the long boat till he's sober,

2. Keep him there and make 'im bale 'er.

3. Pull out the plug and wet him all over,

4. Take 'im and shake 'im, try an' wake 'im.

5. Trice him up in a runnin' bowline.

6. Give 'im a taste of the bosun's rope-end.

7. Give 'im a dose of salt and water.

8. Stick on 'is back a mustard plaster.

9. Shave his belly with a rusty razor.

10. Send him up the crow's nest till he falls down,

11. Tie him to the taffrail when she's yardarm under,

12. Put him in the scuppers with a hose-pipe on him.

13. Soak 'im in oil till he sprouts flippers.

14. Put him in the guard room till he's sober.

15. Put him in bed with the captain's daughter*).

16. Take the Baby and call it Bo'sun.

17. Turn him over and drive him windward.

18. Put him in the scuffs until the horse bites on him.

19. Heave him by the leg and with a rung console him.

20. That's what we'll do with the drunken sailor.

Seems kind of harsh just for being intoxicated.

Just out of curiosity, do you have to speak Pirate to join the Buccaneers? I'm thinking of coming to Membership Day, but I wouldn't want to get my starboard and bow confused.

Don't be worried, werst that might happen is that ya be feathered in yer sleep by a pack of drunken' crusties. Starboard and Bow eh? Whew. 'twil be a long journey for ya right certain. Best we start soon.

Let's keep it simple and keep to the first meetin':

Sunday, November 26, 2006, at TWIN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, in Elverson, PA. Conveniently located near the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m.
