kmansdrummin Posted November 2, 2006 Share Posted November 2, 2006 I have to say, I like the Pearl and Yamaha the best, but for overall look and sound and expense, you can't beat the Pearl, (no pun intended). I love the customized Pearls (04 SCV) and Yamaha (04 Cavies), but that is way, way expensive. When it came time to get new drums for our drumline, I went to different websites, and found that Music 123 had the best price, and the brand was Pearl, (my favorite). We got the Championship package, in Candy Apple Red, with the tenors 6,8,10,12,13, and Basses from 16 through 24. The tenors were heavy IMO, (but the Dynastys were farther out, less leverage and MUCH heavier). I love the 13 inch snares, they are lighter, but still pack a punch. We went "old school" last year and put the Ludwig Silverdots on them, and they sounded GREAT!! You can check out the look at www.pacall.net, and go to "photos".
