MsBusDriver
It's not DCI but for you history buffs. SCV placed 13th at VFW Nationals in '69. Their first trip to a Nationals show. I don't consider the number 13 as "unlucky" anymore :) Edited October 29, 2006 by MsBusDriver
MarimbasaurusRex
Got to thinking about the survival of other placements besides 13th just to see if there was much difference. So figured I would start with 1st. I'll get to some of the others later. Of all the 1st place corps over the years only ONE has folded, the very first champion, Anaheim Kingsmen. Star isn't around anymore either but that was by choice. All the others (all 6 of them, how wrong is that?) are still going strong. So, the first champion was cursed to oblivion and the first 13th place corps was blessed with multiple titles. A little spooky if you ask me. Just in time for halloween! BOO! (not you, Mike, hehehe)

MarimbasaurusRex
Me and about 4000 other people didn't like placing 13th either.
