Mandarins Announce Formation of Taiko Group

The Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the formation of a taiko group. The group will begin rehearsals in December, learning specific taiko techniques and music, performing at various local venues, and training to perform with the 2007 drum corps as part of their "Dragon Dance" show.

The group will rehearse separately from the corps proper until the Memorial Day camp, at which point the group will focus solely on the summer 2007 production. The winter months provide an opportunity for young men and women of drum corps age to learn and perform as a group and for the instructional staff to focus their instructional efforts on areas of specific need to develop the taiko group.
