Kawartha Posted January 4, 2007 Share Posted January 4, 2007 (edited) The Kawartha Kavaliers of Lindsay Ontario Canada will celebrate their 50th anniversary in May of 2007. We urge all alumni members to sign in and attend the celebrations. There is a sign in form on the Corps site kawarthakavaliers.org you can download and send in. The party commences Friday, May 18th for registration and social at the armouries on Kent Street at 7pm to midnight. Then on Saturday, May 19th registration continues. Parade through down town Lindsay at 10:30 am to kick off the festivities. All attending alumni are invited to join the parade and follow the corps. Then at 12 noon the beer garden opens at the armouries for an afternoon social. The Kavaliers will perform a concert in Victoria Park at 2pm. Dinner and dance at the armouries will commence at 6pm til ?? Then join us again on Sunday, May 20th for a pancake breakfast back at the armouries. Agian we would like all alumni members to sign in regardless of their intentions to attend. Over the years, we're been a parade corps, an exhibition corps & a comptetive corps. In the 60's, agains all those great Canadian corps we won the Canadian & Ontario Senior B championships. In the 70's we did the RCA circuit, and had the loudest 21 man hornline on the circuit, as well as a smokin drumline. Great times, great freinds & great music. The music for our 50th celebrations will be presented and reviewed. We would like put 50 horns out this year so come on out and have a blast. I am looking most specifically for pictures from 1967 thru 1978. We don't seem to have many feild show pictures from these years.
