TrishDish1002
Yes, that's true which is why the rankings haven't started yet and will start after the first round of regionals this weekend. However, having scores posted - albeit non-conclusive - gives you some sort of clue as to how you may stack up against your competitors. For example 2 weeks from now X guard may not beat Y guard at a regional, but if X gets a 74 and Y gets a 72 in local competition you kinda know you're in the same ballpark (as opposed to if Y scores a 63 - that's kind of a big difference). did you mean like non wgi competitions? they can't do that because different circuts judge differently
Jak
Will the ranking formula change this year? Since block score now moves up 1.5 points a week instead of 2 points starting in March, will the ranking formula follow suit?

kylemillerkid
Hello all, the rankings site has changed urls, it's now at www.guardbuzz.com instead of at Tripod. The rankings formula is the same as last year with the exception that scores will go up by 1.5 in March instead of by 2, to reflect the way block and post-block work this year. 76 was block this past weekend and 73 was post block. They continue by 2 points until the first weekend in march where they're only 1.5 points higher. Block/Post-block, projected scores will be updated this next week to reflect that change. I'll also be splitting the guards into WGI/non-WGI this week. Though please remember, the rankings only give you an idea of what area of the competition you fall into. If you go to the old site and look at the rankings for Sch. A last year, you'll see that they were off as much as 25 places for some guards. Though most ended up +/- 10 spots. Sorry about the google ads, but I had to find a way to pay for the site after moving it off of Tripod. That said, they're way less intrusive than the pop-ups at Tripod, and the ads are actually relevant to guard (the color guard jewelry site that shows up actually has some neat stuff). I'll try to always have the site updated by Sunday evening (Pacific time). Hope everyone's season is going well. -Kyle Edited February 9, 2007 by kylemillerkid
