JeffP
Well, Mother Nature gave us a great day for rehearsal here in Atlanta and for two hours the brass and percussion tracked the opener, chunk by chunk. Working on marching technique and quality of sound was the brunt of the session as well. Wait til next month when the corps starts learning drill!!! We have the opener complete with the percussion section. The brass has the ballad complete as well and the percussion section will be doing some cool stuff when we hit the field during the ballad. Next camp, we should have 1/2 of the closer, "American Faces". With twists by Andy Yozviak, our brass arranger, even we're going to be surprised by the ending to our show. Color guard on Sunday did a fantastic show and tell to one of the songs from "The Color Purple". They are doing a fantastic job and working hard even with most of them being in winterguards, their Sunday afternoons have become very productive and the results are great!!! Keep it up. Alliance is also proud to announce that we will be travelling to the Shenandoah Sound show in July as well as the Nashville and Rockmart shows for DCA South. The corps will again travel to Maryland for the "July 4th parade" tour and take in some of the sites during their stay. We are still recruiting brass players and front ensemble members. For more information, check out the website and keep up to date with the corps at: www.alliancedrumcorps.org
