Alliance Open House this Sunday!!!!

ALLIANCE will hold our Open House at 9:00am on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at River Ridge High School in Woodstock, GA. Open House is a chance for prospective members to meet the staff and be introduced to ALLIANCE techniques and procedures, and will be the first step in the formal audition process for the 2014 season. The corps will be rehearsing in the Cobb/Cherokee area for the 2014 season. See alliancedrumcorps.org for more information and pre-registration.

I just wanted to wish the Spirit of Atlanta the best of luck this week at Finals. Top 12 guys and gals!!! You got this. Love the show and love blasting the APD in my car. I'll be rooting for you Thursday night at the theater here in ATL.

2006 DCA Prelims - Ernesto carved a path from the South all the way to Rochester, NY just in time for Alliance to take the field. Bitter cold, rain coming down sideways. Drum major gets the "Alliance you may take the field in competition" and two seconds later. "Alliance get off of the field!!!" Tornado warning and the rain just got worse after that. Not the best of conditions AT ALL. Three members of the corps have hypothermia and one is taken to a waiting ambulance because he could hardly move. Yea, let's not ever do that again.

I called Ticket Master here in Atlanta on Monday and got good seats in the upper deck between the 40-45. Online didn't help at all, it kept telling me the best seats were 3 rows from the front of the field. Oh hell no!!

Wouldn't go, that's what BOA is for. I've already lost interest going to DCI shows the past couple of years. I used to go to 3-4 shows here in the South, now I only go to the Atlanta Regional and that was a stretch this past year to convince me to go.

Location: East Coweta Middle School, Senoia, GA First of all, it was great seeing old friends and catching up. Always great to see Bob Sullivan...love ya buddy!! I didn't count horns, guard or percussion for any of the corps. I was there for the fun of just watching drum corps. Shenandoah Sound: Nice job from these guys. Always a pleasure to see you on the field and you guys just get better every year. Hat off to the new member tonight in the guard. Sun Devils: WOW!! Haven't seen this corps and was pleasantly surprised by the their sound and presence on the field. Nice field coverage!! A lot of crowd reaction from your show as well. Two weeks and you guys could cause some damage in Class A. Alliance: This show has really progressed since I saw it last at the Georgia Dome. Some slight changes in drill have added great effects. Very dark show yet always kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. The guys know how to move!! Sounded like one little break in the show but if it was it was a quick recovery. CorpsVets: Also another show that has gotten better since the Dome when I last saw them. This is a new CV and they've done a nice job changing it up. Guard was great as usual. You all were having a good time out there. I hate to say this as well but those uniforms are not that great.

Should be interesting to see how the DCI judges in Fort Mill score CV and Alliance tonight. They will be judged on DCA sheets.

All I know is I bought a plane ticket yesterday for DCA Championships weekend to see every corps and see how this whole season pans out.
