The Brigadiers’ “Images in Time”

A Special Series Celebrating the Past, Present and Future of the Brigadiers

Day two of our "Images in Time" retrospective takes us back to 1954. That year saw the merger of three corps - "The Boys From Syracuse," "The Cortland Moose" and "The Sons of American Legion Post #41" - to become the Syracuse Brigadiers. The image below is the program cover from the 1954 "Pageant of the Drum" competition held August 14, 1954 at MacArthur Stadium in Syracuse. The Pageant continues today, now known as the "Pageant of Drums." Note that the program references the stadium as the home of the Syracuse Chiefs, a minor league baseball team that is currently the Class AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. This year's Pageant will take place August 18 at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse, still sharing its home with the Chiefs. Tickets are available by going to http://www.brigadiers.com/pageant/.

The Brigadiers will premier their 2007 “Images in Time” program this Saturday, June 16, at the “Cabs Beach Party” at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!

With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991 after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles.

For more information, visit the corps' website at www.brigadiers.com.

We are our History.

We are our Future.
