  8. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Downey, Glyde, and Wunderlich to Attend Brigadiers’ May 3-4 Camp Parish, New York (April 29, 2008) – Coming off a well-received performance at the Mighty St. Joe’s Alumni Classic, The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps will head into another exciting weekend of drum corps with the arrival of their music design team. The Brigadiers enjoy one of the finest musical arranging teams in the drum corps activity: Wayne Downey, David Glyde, and Jim Wunderlich, the same gentlemen behind the DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils. The storied trio will travel east for their first visit of the 2008 season to work with the corps this weekend, May 3-4, for what is sure to be an experience not to be missed. The full corps will rehearse once again at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School in Parish, New York, just north of Syracuse. Rehearsal will run from 1:00 p.m. - 10 p.m. Saturday and from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday. The Corps will conduct open rehearsals all weekend and invite the public to attend. The weekend will provide an outstanding opportunity to observe these talented and iconic gentlemen as they share their insights into both the Brigadiers’ 2008 program, “Reflexions,” as well as the drum corps activity itself. Interested musicians, teachers, and fans alike won’t be disappointed! A few spots remain available in the brass and percussion sections of the Corps – and there is no better time to become a part of the 2008 edition of The Brigadiers than now! For more information, please visit the Corps’ website, www.brigadiers.com, or contact Corps Director Rick Martin at richardmartin@brigadiers.com. With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991 after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, and are the only drum and bugle corps to ever win four consecutive DCA titles. (Edited to adjust Saturday rehearsal time)
  9. Too funny, Dale! And you can hijack our threads any time you want - that's what they're here for! Hope all is well with you guys and the kids!
  10. Chris meant no disrespect, I'm sure - not his style whatsoever. We, of course, also endured a horrible situation last year with the break-in at Brigadier Hall and completely sympathize with what both Cru and Bush have had to deal with in the past few weeks. All corps likely should be concerned for where their equipment is stored in this day and age. Arrangements have already been made to provide Cru some of our equipment for the Mighty St. Joe's performance this weekend. The Crusaders have all of our support and best wishes in this trying time. We look forward to seeing everyone from Cru this weekend and to outstanding performances from everyone at the show.
  11. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Brigadiers to Perform at Mighty St. Joe’s Indoor Preview Show Parish, New York (April 17, 2008) - The Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps will kick off its 2008 “summer” performance season with an appearance at the Mighty St. Joe’s Classic XV, to be held April 26, 2008, at the Greece-Apollo Middle School in Greece, New York. The corps will debut its 2008 program, “Reflexions,” featuring the music of composer Samuel R. Hazo. Arrangers Wayne Downey, David Glyde, and Jim Wunderlich have re-imagined several of Hazo’s most stirring compositions for the 2008 program - “Sevens,” “Echoes,” and “Ride” - augmenting them with their own unique compositional skills. “We’re very excited to get this season underway with a return to the Mighty St. Joe’s Classic,” said Corps Director Rick Martin. “This program is a departure for us, though it still incorporates the power and excitement that the Brigs are known for. We can’t wait to share this tremendous music with the drum corps community and with our fans.” The Classic will feature performances by a number of DCA, Alumni, and Mini Corps.
