Reviews on the Yamaha YEP 202M Euph?

Hello!

Since I am trying out for the Bluecoats euph line in the near future, I was thinking of getting a yamaha euph to practice on, but I've heard bad and good things about them. I was thinking about getting one because my main horn's a trombone.

Anyone got anything to say?

Mack Brass (mackbrass.com) Compensating euphonium. They are they best bang for the buck. Like a Besson without the empty wallet. Yamaha brasswinds are like five cents short of a dollar. Very good but way overprices. Their saxophones got like that too.

There is absolutely no need for anyone to buy a marching horn to prep for a corps audition. Get yourself something that's useful in the real world.

Im with HornsUp on this, there's no need in purchasing your own marching horn, you are better off buying a concert euph for use in other ensembles. If you're afraid of intonation issues you might have switching to the marching horn, it's common at auditions to have that.

Well... I want to be the best I can be, is that not worth getting a horn? this is something i've budgeted, planned on it. I just wanted to know which was the best to choose from.

Buy yourself a used marching euph. Buy it for a low price. Learn to play it well. Don't wreck it.

When you are done with it, sell it on to someone else.

Guess how much money you will lose? Little to none.

The key is to buy it for the right price. It is an short-term invetment. Not intended to make money mind you.

But you will get your money back, and you will be adept at handling and playing a marching euph.

haha yeah I was going to buy a used one, no way I was going to pay what is only a few hundred short of a DCI tuition on a horn.... THAT'S a stupid idea....

I've been waiting, scanning ebay and contacting forum members for a good deal, so I'm not just buying on a whim.
