  1. Well, technically we didn't actually go anywhere. Noble Callahan became Capitol Brass Ensemble and was "back" the very next year.
  2. Does anyone think that maybe because the Cadets are already an established name that it just MIGHT be a little much that they're also limiting the max age of their members? They'll already have an advantage of being affiliated with a DCI powerhouse. That is MORE than enough. I can see the limiting of a MINIMUM age, but not the "age out" age. Let them use the resources (the cadets name) that they already have! Otherwise, this is going to be just a really terrible attempt at trying to make an obvious power play as obscure as possible. THIS, I BELIEVE!
  3. That was just one example. My point was that shows within days of each other along with several performances in the same day are not uncommon for any DCA corps. So, you bringing up that shows are within days of each other is moot. Also, some shows even in the NE only feature a handful of corps. A schedule is a schedule. I was arguing against your examples used to make your point, not against C2 being involved in the DCA circuit. I hope that this clears things up.
  4. Umm.... How about no. I hate to break it to you, but DCA corps have schedules like that, regardless of class.Take a look at our friends from outside the NE. They compete in DCI shows and very rarely see the rest of the competition on the field until finals, etc. They make it work, and put out a tremendous product. Also, I'd imagine that if a corps isn't touring, shows only days apart shouldn't be an issue. DCA corps have been "loading up" on multiple performances in a DAY, including parades and shows for decades. It's tough, but given the target demographic that C2 is going to utilize, it shouldn't be a problem. I think that maybe your hypothesis is incorrect. Actions speak louder than words. We'll see how this pans out when they hit the field next year, and I wish them the best of luck! May they come into their own!
  5. It was great fun! I believe that we'll be recording more as time passes, pulling from our current repertoire and some new stuff. The plan is, to rehearse the tunes to record during the week, and then record them the following weekend. Sounds like a lot to do, but when you've got dedicated people, it really is a breeze.
  6. "IF" we were to go forward with this idea, and that's a big "if", I recall that we had a show already written for the season that the field corps ceased to be. That would be a positive step in the right direction, should this occur. Mind you, I'm not confirming or denying anything...
  7. The book is REALLY a lot of fun!! Come on in and check it out!
  8. Awe, I was too far away from the center of the picture with the Hellions.. What a blast though! Plus that C-130 flyover was awesome!
  9. Plan 9 from outer space? You're killin' me here, Dad! 'Fess up already!
  10. well, if the bed was made....... Let's use our own projection power ( diaphragm + lungs ) to put our point across. A football field is not a nightclub. There are no electric guitars that have to be played over. I say, just let the man do what he wants to do (hoppy).Like it or not, DCI will eventually become BOA,or they'll become so similar to one another that it won't matter. I, personally, don't.
  11. Looking forward to the book! (Well, I already know what it is) To Dan,Tom and Joe, make sure that you replace the roll!
