I don't believe Flanagan has ever lost kids to WB. In 2003 they lost half of their 350 person band to Everglades H.S when the split happened, maybe that's what you're referring to?

Close! Flanagan did split a bunch of years back, but the other school was called Everglades H.S. West Broward actually broke off from Everglades H.S. and Cypress Bay H.S.(who did extremely well in SO this season btw).

It is also worth noting that there were two Florida teams in Scholastic World finals from the same TOWN: both Flanagan and West Broward High Schools hail from Pembroke Pines, Florida. I believe this is a first for SW, pretty awesome!

Yeah it surprised me too when I was making the list, but I just really prefer pride and onyx. By far. And who really knows what Aimachi will come out with, so I was just guessing with that. Surprise factor alone will probably put them near the top in the end. I love the first half of SCV's show, but I find myself terribly lost the second. Things might change when I watch them all live, but we'll see!

From the Cinci Regional: Really intrigued by Onyx this year...I couldn't take my eyes off the screen for the first 2/3! The end left me wanting more, but overall I love the development and how they use that prop throughout. Pride is just amazing...they look so mature and every move they make is just so effortless...Also loving Zydeco, the soundtrack is so well put together and the way they use the stage is . Hats off to Lawrence Central for upping their game this year, really enjoyed them. Side note, I can't wait to see what James Logan has in store for us this weekend...top 3 in SW is going to be very exciting!

I recently heard that Logan signed up for WGI just in case they are able to figure out the money stuff in time. That is to say, there are no guarantees good luck to them!!!

Sacred Heart brought a great show to IW finals. they are well trained and had a clean and greatly entertaining run and deserved that spot in my eyes. without them there wouldn't be a single flat out FUN show in the mix. so hats off to Sacred Heart for a job well done!

sigh. i don't know. it's obviously just me, but i just can't get into SCV. i think that they're a VERY talented group of kids, they achieve all of what is given to them at a very high level. but i can't help thinking that it's the same show as last year, just not half as good from a design standpoint...the only thing that moved me was the flag book which is absolutely breathtaking. i'm hoping to get proven wrong in Dayton! and can someone tell me what the HECK was with the blinding rays of california sunlight shining down on those young performers during finals!? i don't know about anyone else, but i was sort of horrified and afraid for their safety...there's a reason why WGI doesn't allow flash photography... :big hug:
