  1. If the plot for the series is two corps, one from PA and one from NoCal, competing to win the world championships, I wonder what happens if another group, say from Ohio or the Carolinas happens to wins instead?... Does that blow up their plans for the program in production, or does that just create a great plot twist? If one of the two corps wins, does that end the series or does this just set up an ongoing battle between the two for the future of the series, much like between ALDC and Candy Apples? Instead of Abbey Lee and Kathy, picture Hopkins and Gibbs throwing down in the parking lot. Will there be outside influences upon judging that could affect which corps wins in order to influence and affect TV ratings? So many interesting possibilities...

  3. Unless the music is within the public domain (and that is not always clear without doing some research), you absolutely cannot publish, sell or distribute copyrighted materials in any way, without the consent of the rights holder, and likely without paying some fees to the rights holder for doing so. To do so would run afoul of the law, risking all sorts of legal issues that a team of lawyers may be needed to untangle. Chris
  4. Announcing the understudy program! The Colts are seeking a few people to fill out our brass and guard sections. In addition we are seeking understudies in all sections. This is a great opportunity for you to spend the summer touring with the corps while training for a position should one open up this summer, or training for future seasons. The cost to do this is very low at $17.50 per day through the end of tour on August 11. Given the timing, these fees may be financed through the end of this calendar year. We are having a great summer so far and look forward to presenting a show that we feel will be exciting and very accessible. Don't miss this opportunity to jump on board with the corps for what is shaping up to be a great season! These positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. If you have an interest in filling one of these positions, please contact the corps immediately at colts @colts.org or by phone at 563-564-9156. Chris Tomsa Colts Program Coordinator

  11. Things are going great so far, thanks for asking. Show production is right on schedule and I am pleased with what I am seeing so far. The perfomers are doing great, just need to fill these last minute spots that invariably pop up this time of year. The corps (along with the Colt Cadets and our various other performance ensembles) will be doing our preview show on Saturday June 23 at 7:30pm at Loras College in Dubuque. It's a great event and best of all free. So if you are in the area, please stop by to cheer us on. Chris
