I hope and pray that the young people marching today have found the importance of the tingle and cooling effect of soothing GOLD BOND! So which one was it for you? Where was your favorite place to apply? Mine: Definitely the Green Bottle in the unmentionables and underarms. Nothing quite like it. Quick story: We were in Lake Mills Wisconsin in '98. Was extremely hot and muggy and J. Buckingham marched us down the street from the school for block after block. We kept marching until we saw it, the lake. He has us put the horns down, line up and then march into the lake. Had fun and then when we got out we set up the horn arc to warm up. It was tradition to Gold Bond before warmup. So we dared each other being soaking wet to Gold Bond and do it big. I must have dropped half the bottle down the front while soaking wet. Let me tell you that there is no pain to describe that feeling. I will never forget and neither will the other hornline members. Go Gold Bond!! memphomello08 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Some of the guys I marched with made a legendary "Gold Bond Paste." It was blue bottle Gold Bond mixed with Ocean Potion gel. That stuff was like angels blowing on your nuts after drinking 3 Red Bulls and chewing an entire pack of Eclipse Ice Cubes. Quote
