  1. Blue Devils C (from corpsreps): The Greatest Show on Turf Entry of the Gladiators (aka Thunder and Blazes) by Seredy, J S Fantasy of Two Folk Songs Over the Waves
  2. Strong finish for BDB!! Well done!
  3. Nice music from BDB, and the guard uni's are colorful, even from the high angle FN feed. Formations not as readable as SCVC's, though - less impactful visually.
  4. Lots of keyboards tonight. To be expected, I guess....
  5. Blue Devils B (from corpsreps): Syncronicity Synchronicity I by Sting Kaleidoscope Heart by Bareilles, Sara Murder by Numbers by Sting Krump by McAllister, Scott Synchronicity II by Sting Original Music by Meehan, John
  6. That show ended much too soon - great show!! Enjoyed the music and the opening drill really made a statement - very eye-catching.
  7. That's a TON of echo. I wonder if it sounds that way in the stadium. Hope we don't get that for the performances.
  8. Oops!!! Silly me, trying in vain to find the live support on the DCI website, etc. 3+ hours to wait yet.....
  9. It's 5:21 Central time. Has the feed started yet? I thought it would start at 4:45 Central.
  10. Ah, OK, I need to clarify...the guy who came in to get his seats came in BEFORE the SCV show with plenty of time to sit down. When I said "more than halfway through the show", I meant the contest, not the individual show. I said that to see if anyone thought that how late you showed up for a contest made any difference. So far it appears that it doesn't, which I would agree with. But I do appreciate all the responses.
  11. I agree with the poster who said that electronics is the real story of the season. I have always been and always weill be against all electronics in Drum Corps, but I think a lot of the corps used it pretty tastefully and, to be honest, it wasn't nearly the detriment that narration has been since day 1. All with the exception of Teal Sound - who demonstrated capably why electronics is such a bad idea. Of the things listed, I'd go with Troopers and then SCV. But the big story for me was that, prior to Finals, I was 0-for-3 this year - all three shows that I could have made got rained out. Pretty much a washout of a summer until this fantastic last two days.
  12. OK, I have a couple of "etiquette" questions for everyone based on a couple of things I saw at Finals. (Never mind the ever-present, ever-inane "they're always ready"...that's a different rant.) Last night there was a guy up in 641 (where I was) who kept a running commentary going on everything that was going on. He wasn't being obnoxious or overly loud, but he was pretty distracting. He left for a few minutes to get a drink or something and one of the guys in front of me said, somewhat confrontationally, that the guy needed to be quiet if he was going to come back. Personally, I was grateful for the guy's courage to say something - I couldn't have done it. So, what do you do in a situation like that? Situation number 2. Tonight in section 140 there were a couple of guys "squatting" - that is, sitting in seats other than the ones for which they had tickets - down the row from me. Just before SCV came on (over halfway through the show), the guy who actually owned those tickets came in and wanted his seats. The guys in them refused to give them up. Now, it would have been pretty disruptive to have them get out of a filled row to give up the seats, but I thought that the squatters should have yielded to the guy who paid for those tickets. So, here's the question - who's right in this case? Do the squatters have the right to stay there because the guy who actually owned the seats came in so late? If so, what's the cutoff where it's understood that you no longer have a right to your seat? Or should they have given up the seats they didn't buy and go back to their own? I'm thinking the latter but would like to hear other points of view.
  13. Good idea to do the encore while waiting (interminably, as usual) for scores. Never did get what takes the scores so long...aren't all but the last corps already tallied?
  14. My sentiments exactly. I think I'm actually going to like this show, first time since 2001 Juxtaperformance.
