  1. haha, you guys crack me up. Well.... You are correct....but I guess I was a little too subtle. What do a bunch of whole notes resemble?? I guess I failed at the intarweb. I have nothing against it really, I think it sounds fine. And I like the musical selection. I just wanted to give the guy a hard time.
  2. humor noted. OS reference, vague, but acceptable. better than your rubber ducky! B)
  3. oh come on.....you can figure it out! B)
  4. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?!! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BASE THIS PREDICTION OFF OF!!!11!one!~ *head asplodes*
  5. heh, I think people are failing to notice that its a 2005 prediction thread that was started last summer....as you were people.
  6. I hate to get into this because its OT....but everyones feet were moving at about 260bpm. Flutter step. Battery was playing at 260bpm by the end of the accel..and holmes was indeed conducting that fast. As for the hornline....they were supposed to move their feet as fast as they could to get to the 260 tempo. Most could achieve the true tempo. Some not, but it wasnt meant to be perfectly in step. OKAY </OT discussion> And to be honest, I have nothing else to contribute that is on-topic. I am teh suxx0rz.
  7. not to get OT....but 2000 BD to me is still by far the darkest show out there. I love listening to the State of the Art II recording (now that I finally have it.) Nucking Futs.
  8. This is the primary reason I post anonymously. I aged out in 05 and marched the past few years in a pretty good Div 1 corps....I have a tendency to be pretty blunt and stubborn in my posts, I know it, and thats just how I roll. A looong time ago, under a different screen name, I used to include my marching 'resume' as someone else put it, in my signature. That was less than a stellar idea, as I tend to ruffle a few feathers every now and then. I decided I didn't want to earn a reputation for myself or my corps in a negative light, so now here I am today, posting as a faceless pest on DCP!
  9. It works the same in IE. I just right clicked in the forums, highlighted the url and pasted it into a new IE window. Bam, no side bar. Pain the arse after awhile though.
  10. Right I'll agree with that. (I must be one of the few around these parts that doesn't hate the show! I watch the fansubs though...not the English dubs.) Alright then......</thread hijack>
  11. The dancing character in your avatar says "datte bayo" frequently. I assumed you had seen the show, and so I threw that in thinking you'd get my reference.
  12. 'datte bayo' was said in reference to sburstall's avatar. apparently Mr. Traveller30 missed that or ignored that. I'll bite though....he is fat, ugly, and creeps women out. (Thats English by the way....so no need to download extra fonts or use google to translate it)
  13. hah....nah, Im down with crunchy frog...just being a pain in the butt. DATTE BAYO!
  14. I saw crunchy frog in 04. Preettty crappy.
  15. I also appreciate how he contributed to the thread by commenting on the subject....while some people havent. -------------------- BD 04..listen to the opening technical passage....super fast dexterity work there..... Cadets 00...well...most Cadet books have a lot of ink on the mello part...adding to the appearance of a difficult horn book...
  16. Instead you'll hear how the BD organization as a whole has affected the activity....not just one year.
  17. I could be getting ahead of myself here....but you're not under the impression that UA is using "PR 05's" music are you?
  18. Just some comments.... For the people who say something to he effect of "The show would've been better w/o the narrator..." I say, do you realize that all actual dance derby's had narrators/announcers? This simply brought more authenticity to the show. Other than satisfying the anti-amp anti-voice crowd, how could removing an integral part of the theme (the dance derby announcer) make it better? Likewise, the word 'yowza' that everyone thinks they hate....was a frequent buzz word of the era being portrayed in the show. Go figure. for the people who say something to the effect of "The music is poorly arranged/choppy, etc for the past few BD shows"... I say, go back and actually listen to the source music for the past few years and then listen to the BD shows and see if you still feel this way. With the exception of 'Dynamite Sprint', which is an intentional throwback to the 03 show, the entire 05 BD show was created from outside source music. I listened to the source music and then to the BD show and was quite surprised at how close to the original it is. Likewise can be said for the past few years.....I blame peoples lack of familiarity with the music, not the arrangements. Likewise for thinking that the music doesn't fit the era/theme. Also, how believable of a dance derby show would you have if you only played 3 or 4 pieces of music? Dance Derby's had TONS of songs, and hopefully for obvious reasons.....seems to make sense to bring this to the field if you're doing a Dance Derby show. People seem to be unaware of the fact the Program Coordinator for the Blue Devils is the same person who is in charge of the James Logan High School WGI guard program that first performed "Dance Derby of the Century." This would be Scott Chandler. Now, am I telling people to like this show? #### no. Think what you want! But I do want people to be better informed. At any rate, there was more I intended to say, but cant think of it off the top off my head....
