  9. Good luck. Love the colors and the aussies should look great. Maybe go with a crossmen type design on the uni.
  10. Best 'opener' corps to date? Santa Clara Vanguard.... IMO: Also best 'ballad' and 'Closer' corps too :P B)
  11. Yep When I was a Kid, I liked it because of the differences. I play Saxophone. I love the woodwind sound. I also love electronics and really like all the different colors and blends they have to offer. I just do not believe that DCI needs to be the organization to harbor a field activity involving these instruments. I love that the mix is the heart and passion of Percussion Instruments, Brass Instruments and Interperative Guard Work. I was ok with the pit being amped just because I understood that acoustically, the pit cannot always be heard during all parts of the show. Now that we have added mic'd singing/beat boxing/narration (especially the last one) I am getting disgusted because the effect is taking away from times that the horns could be ripping my face off, drums beating me into the ground or another type of effective moment. Could another type of Blast evolve to harness this idea. Shockwave added Sax's and some Jazz music into the indoor circuit. Maybe someone could start Heatwave. b**bs
  12. Why don't you answer? Perhaps it IS hard for you to see what will happen or perhaps you don't care cause the activity has changed so much since when you marched in the Hilltoppers.
  13. Well for one, I should be aged-out before these so called changes that DCI IS making come in effect, and if they do, that is one sad day <**>
  14. I do know my stuff on balance and Intonation and your assumption on me thinking that brass and woodwinds can't balance is totally wrong. Do you even think about what you are going to type? Do you think I am completely oblivious to any symphonic or chamber or any mixed instrumentation groups that have been successful in their blending and sound production. Color is an interesting subject and woodwinds and those other instruments do create all sorts of interesting and at times beautiful Colors, I just don't agree that they are unique to nor needed for DCI. If you would like to hear their blend or the rich color of a Dominant Seventh Chord Voiced to Banjo, Tuba, Kazoo and English horn than there are other places that you can go to hear that...why do you need DCI? The posture thing, if uniform in sections would be fine, but across the ensemble it can't be done physically. Say you have a clarinet standing next to a piccolo and the piccolo next to an upright Euphonium player and then an oboe at the end to complete a 4 person form. How do you see clarity in that, even if they performers are holding their instruments and standing exactly the way they are supposed to?
  15. What proof do you have of that? And I do believe your spelling is off. ^0^
  16. Well goodnight Aaron, Its been a joy, I am too tired to continue on this evening, but I will be back to reassure that many people love DCI the way it is. Truly think out what your saying and all the changes that DCI would need to make to accomodate your "dream". Later
