  1. GOOD LUCK to the White Sabres this up coming season. I have a lot of good friends down there, any chance of going open?
  2. idk thats a hard one, perhaps if there was sufficient fundalation, and ridiculously low travel expenses, you might see more corps from the east...not to mention kick butt pay for the show...but then again, if all those things were taken into account, and still met, in the future i would definitely like to goto that show, but im not the corps director.
  3. is robert on dcp?...lol...ok buddy buddy, that should be our official "ready front"
  4. hey i forgot the next time we got together would be for another show!!! i definitely can't wait till our next camp at east rochester high school!!!
  5. i would like to congratulate the 2009 Rochester Crusaders upon their captivating performance at the Mt. Markham high school in West Winfield, NY on Saturday the 14th of march. We played our entire show for the 1st time in public, and also in full uniform. It was very exciting and enjoyable both to the performers and the audience. They were very responsive to the presentation of "Land and Space," the music of Gustav Holst. It was truly a moment of intense fascination from the crowd as their faces lit up with joy and excitement when they heard the familiar music that the corps had produced. Once again, thank you 2009 Rochester Crusaders for your hard work and the wonderful performance.
  6. eh....i think ive had my fill of mello, besides we've got F mellos and not G mellos which is kinda depressing cause i liked the G's way more that the F's

yes my horn is clean!!! it has been for a month now, itll be the best looking horn there....oh yeah, would you like to play in a small group for i&e's, i need to a freaking sweet, kick butt, tuba player, cause im writing a beast! see ya this weekend!

what are you nut? no rookie and/or anyone else would be willing to do it for $20. besides i used windex for years and it didnt do much good. after the windex we moved to armorall wipes, they sucked butt as well. no, its a valuable lesson to learn to keep up the maintenance of your horn weekly,.....oh wait natural vinegar windex?......hmmmm, no i'll just stick with polishing it....but thanks for the comments.
  9. freaking A, relax, i guess i miss understood your post....omg....let me know when youve stopped bleeding. geez, so i guess youre free of human error!

holy crap dude!!!! we normally dont have time to do a full tear down, so i just hit what i can. ive taken my horn to the shower once, but ill never do it again after i learned about the water that was still trapped in it during warm-ups,....gosh darnit....thats another thing,....darn polite euphemisms!
  11. i agree with all but the last two, politics has a lot to with the almighty DCA...thats for the last one. the 2nd to last one, being at war with each other...it's totally true and it's not gonna end. there will always be rivalries between corps, especially if members leave to another corps....theyre kinda hated....but enough about that.
  12. you know what really grinds my gears....people who cut rank, and then when i wanna chase after them and give 'em a talkin' to, i can't because it looks bad upon the corps or no one wants to join in on the beating.

    horn care

yeah i should try that, but every time i do it (once a week), i still find places that are hard to reach

playing tuba is fun, but polishing it is a pain in the arse. especially getting all the crap out of the crevices with a cue tip. has anyone ever used a power washer? would it be damaging to the finish and/or other parts of the horn? what are your (you people) thoughts on te best way to do it?
  15. i remember when i 1st learned trumpet, i started on jump right in by robert getchel, but ive heard good things about the suzuki method.
