  1. THANKS!! ("little'er" but not by much... heh) 4 or 5 more operations like this and I'll be back to the same weight I was when I marched with Sun!
  2. 8 years huh? The first one (same area, belly button) was in between the 1980 and 1981 seasons.... just slight more than 8 years
  3. Because of a small complication during my hernia surgery I'm slightly less "colossal". (my reference is in mass/size not importance) LOL... That IS the plan my friend.... peaceful and joyous Christmas and New Year! From our house to all of yours, Donna and I are wishing everyone a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy, safe, health and prosperous New Year!
  4. Hi all!! Been back home since Monday but wasn't back on the computer till tonight. (compared to my 5" cell phone screen this 28" monitor is HUGE! LOL) Thought I would post some of the details.... (I was beginning to get confused what happened reading a few of the posts on my FB wall and some of the get well emails I got. LOL) Here's the 411... As I always say, "Every day above ground is a GREAT day!" It was just some minor intestinal blockage that kept me in our local hospital for a couple of days. (Fri/Sat 12/6 & 7) I was released to return on 12/11 (Wed) I had a hernia that needed to be repaired. That repair surgery was done on Wednesday (12/11) all went well with just a small complication... no big deal... (a little longer recuperation that's all) Having the ability to opt for "elective surgery" (which was to be less intrusive) rather than the if it was an "emergency surgery" where I wouldn't have had any options and they would have had to open a much larger incision in my stomach. (And that would have had to be done when I went in Friday the 6th) My surgeon said I was going to be few days in the hospital and maybe 4 - 6 weeks before going back to "full duties", (As I don't have any "full duties" I guess it won't be long. heh) Sorry Don.... This hernia (which I've been dealing with for several years) was in almost the same place the 1st one was (belly button) and that surgery was around 1980-1981. IIRC, It was only a a week or two before the pains were gone and another week or so before I was able to return to work. I scheduled that surgery in the off season because, at that time, I was also the DM with the Sunrisers. Looks like It might be about 4 - 6 weeks total before I'll be able to go back to everything I was doing before the surgery. I'm hoping I'll be able to sit at the computer and check emails and several of the forums even if only for short intervals during the day/night.... Thanks again for all of the well wishes! BIG Thank you Fran and NanciD for keeping everyone updated! From our house to all of yours, Donna and I are wishing everyone a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy, safe, health and prosperous New Year!
  5. Wow... Another great story I did not know.... Thanks FTD!!
  6. I know you're a very busy guy but wonder if maybe your attempting to hide from your family? (Just about all of them are on FB... heh)
  7. Considering it wasn't that long ago (before the internet) we might not of heard how anyone is doing for months, perhaps years...this IS "a lot earlier"... Prayers for our Guido's speedy and full recovery...
  8. He’s home recuperating and doing well, but really needs some cheering up. Not sure if he'd like his home addy posted or not. If anyone that doesn't have it, and would like it, please PM me or send an email to SunriserDM@gmail.com and I'll send Guido's contact info to you.....
  9. I wonder who in this activity (if anyone) hasn't had their photo taken by this man at some time or the other? As a kid I would, as did just about everyone else, run over to Moe's van as soon as we were done competing on the field and look through all of Moe's contact sheets of photos hoping I'd find one with me in it..... (Thankfully there have been a LOT over the years.... I've marched in 5 DCs and because of Moe there's photograph proof I was "there". THANK YOU Moe!) Maurice D. Knox, Jr. Drum Corps Photographer Extraordinaire https://www.facebook.com/moe.knox.1 Maurice Knox Jr. http://www.padchof.com/BiosH.html#Maurice_Knox Maurice Knox – While Moe’s performance history is limited to a year or two with the Connecticut Hurricanes, his major contribution to our activity is that of an historian who has captured through his photography the essence and history of the Drum Corps activity for better than 50 years covering Junior, Senior, All-age and Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. No other individual has provided photographic coverage over a longer period of time then Moe. He not only covered the big name Corps but the lesser-known Corps as well. In addition he has captured many individuals with interesting stories that have been featured in Drum Corps World and is the longest serving staff member of Drum Corps World.
  10. Hi Andy!! Yes, (It wasn't my laptop it was my Dish Network connection) All of this has been posted on the FB page for Bucky (https://www.facebook.com/groups/tommyswan/) Apologies for how long this is taking.... Seems there was a major software update and that has some to do with my connection situation... Still photos have been uploaded to my Flickr account (I'll upload to my FB site as soon as I can) Videos & Audios have been uploaded to my Dropbox account. (As I was having some problems getting the videos uploaded to my YouTube channel) I think everyone (that already has a Dropbox account as well as anyone that has not yet, they're free) should be able to watch and download any of these videos. The individual audio links are below. As will all of the photos, audios and videos I have taken they are all "Use as you see fit". (You have my permission to download and use any you'd like to) I was not able to record (video and audio) or take photos of everyone that performed. My apologies to those I missed.... 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration of Life PHOTOS: 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration01_NY Skyliners Alumni http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637581387914/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration02_Rich Wardlow_Tony Menditto http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637581230864/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration03_Brooklyn United http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580371856/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration04_Al Chez http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580181595/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration05_OLPH Ridgemen http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580079935/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration06_Patty Antol http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580076506/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration07_'Bucky's Buddies' http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580009156/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration08_Melrose Blackhawks http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637580615544/ 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration09_NY Skyliners Alumni Chorus http://www.flickr.com/photos/sundm/sets/72157637579521216/ VIDEO: (Please do NOT delete the videos) Dropbox, ALL links: <https://www.dropbox.com/home/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan's%20Celebration%20of%20Life> 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration_Brooklyn United https://www.dropbox.com/s/74vs6f5awes24in/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration_Brooklyn%20United.mp4 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration01_OLPH Ridgemen https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxdczjsft5t839p/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration01_OLPH%20Ridgemen.mp4 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration_Al Chez.mp4 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0rgn56ytyw4vq36/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration_Al%20Chez.mp4 An original composition play by Al Chez titled "For Your Love" 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration02_Patty Antol https://www.dropbox.com/s/945bk64tlhqiyxg/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration02_Patty%20Antol.mp4 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration03_'Bucky's Buddies' https://www.dropbox.com/s/mwrjp4s8jgxa0w9/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration03_%27Bucky%27s%20Buddies%27.mp4 11-9-13 Bucky Swan's Celebration04_Melrose Blackhawks https://www.dropbox.com/s/2qh31k4wg510n8l/11-9-13%20Bucky%20Swan%27s%20Celebration04_Melrose%20Blackhawks.mp4 AUDIOS: (ALL Videos & Audios Dropbox Folder Link - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2sb7cgxqhksamx1/DKw2wv0Uwg) 11-9-13Bucky's Celebration_01Brooklyn United1064.mp3 Play: http://bit.ly/178jWFo Download: http://bit.ly/1dzNBsd 11-9-13Bucky's Celebration_02Al Chez1065.mp3 Play: http://bit.ly/1acVHXW Download: http://bit.ly/17Y1br0 11-9-13Bucky's Celebration_03O.L.P.H. 15. You're just jealous because I got "there" a little before you little brother? LOL
  16. I did send a PM to John but I'm not sure it went through. I've also been having some challenges with my internet connection (Dish Network) over these past few weeks... (three different browsers and the same problem) All day yesterday and I wasn't able to get any of the photos, videos or audios that Donna and I took at Bucky's Celebration Saturday uploaded on line. (uploads keep timing out) I'm thinking all of this may be on my end....
