My read on Cadets situation is >> losing TA sucks, but I think his wife being named "artistic director", his one son marching snare with crazy mouth open facial expressions all summer, his other son being the snare tech, Neil's son being a pit member - was all a bit much. Frankly it sadly reminded me of when GH named his GF guard caption head. And I think in the long run the corps would be better off without Darcie. JMO.
He was also around for a very long time in the Hopkins era. But somehow ‘knew nothing…’

Grammar police!!!! Where are you?
I assume you are referring to contributing to the Cadets this season . Given the financial trials and tribulations ALL corps are going through in this post Covid age why would you not chip in to keep the corps you “love” getting down the road? If you are concerned about corps leadership then become active in the organization on a grassroots level to enact change. It’s not that hard. Really. Give it a whirl. If your efforts go south, at least you can say you tried and then move on.
I don’t love the corps, because I know enough about it

Band, drum corps, cheer etc are just schemes for people like Varsity to suck money out of upper middle class parents at this point

So I guess the org is still a mess.

I love moments in DCI where people jump off of stuff. It just completely turns off my musically analytical brain and just makes me go "WHOOOOOA". If anyone's super into the technical drum corps stuff, was the closer of Tilt a violation/penalty? I feel like if a band can get penalized for tall props they would definitely get penalized for a man running and jumping off a small thin ramp, being caught by a group of people that fell down along with him at the end.
I find myself once again compelled to post.
The first show with "jumping off things" as a design element was 2006 Cadets. We had pink benches that were held up in an angle by a member, and other members ran up them to dive/flip into the arms of a squad of others. The relevant part starts around 6:50 into this video:
How did we work it out? Trial and error. Many heads, faces etc. hit the ground, the benches, etc. Total disregard for member safety and quality of experience. Look at the guard performer's face around 7:06 in the video. That's pure fear.
The visual staff quit Cadets around 2012 and went to Bluecoats...

Cadets: Narration again? Suitcases again? A thin layer of finely grated cheese over everything? Come on. Cadets-do-an-ending-that-isn't-a-company-front-of-some-form-in-a-competitive-show-for-the-first-time-since-2015 challenge; difficulty: impossible, apparently. Do better.*
I laughed and laughed.

What happened last night was tame compared to the chorus of "boos" rained down on Star of Indiana at the first Tour of Champions show in Madison back in '91. Joe Bruno had to quiet the crowd down it was so bad.
