  1. Can't speak for Crown, but BD had an unusually low number of age-outs this past year. One of last year's members told me out of the 76 horns, only 15 or 16 were aging out. Usually that number is in the lower 30s.
  2. Not sure about the I&E segments, but the vignettes are on the Fan Network, under "Off the Field"- listed as "Legacy Vignettes"
  3. Check out "The Breathing Gym" by Patrick Sheridan and Sam Pilafian. Both former students of Arnold Jacobs, and arguably 2 of the best players/teachers alive today. There's 1 book and 2 dvds; one of the DVDs just won an emmy for 'excellence in information/instructional production'. A good majority of corps today use The BG or some variation of BG exercises. there's a small sample clip on that tube site, if you want to check it out. Highly recommend getting the original book at the very least.
  4. Finals week, 3 different judging panels felt 'Machine' was the winning show of 06. I think if they redid 96, some people might get upset. I don't think it would be a wise choice...96 was a great corps, a great show, and a great end to the season. No need to re-do it IMO.
  5. pure speculation...not a rumor, just thinking aloud... Paul Rennick was/is a Dynasty artist, and PR switched to Dynasty drums (last year i think?)...JD Shaw (and Boston Brass) was a King artist, and PR played on King horns. JD has somewhat recently become a Jupiter artist...so maybe somethings coming? Pure speculation.
  6. Sorry, gotta set this one straight. I brought this up with a few of the guys who marched there the last few years, and they absolutely did not hold their horns intentionally like that. They got new horns this past year and just held them the same way they held the old horns they had...and had no idea that it gave the impression that they were flipping the bird. And had they even heard about it before finals day this past summer, they no doubt would've changed that hand position. And you can doubt what I've just said and insist that it was intentional, but it was not.

  8. Last time they came through AZ was 2007. In 2008 they stayed in cali until the swing up north.
  9. I agree, performance order does matter...but, for what it's worth, they went head to head numerous times on the while PR was on the west coast, maybe even a few times after that. Oregon and Idaho come to mind... I'm not sure how one would even know that a corps is going to get jumped on finals night...if you have a crystal ball or something that can project that, you could make a fortune letting us all know.
  10. Really? anyone on DCP said that? Not saying I don't believe you, I just haven't heard that excuse yet.
