  1. check out www.airmaxbreather.com several corps are currently using this device. Do you think it will work? Do you have experience with this device? Let me know!
  2. This is one of the stadiums in Holland, dont worry, there big enough. The lines can be painted or whatever. That won't be the problem,.....the problem is always money
  3. I think it will happen though. So far it just happened to be that two corps did not went in the same year. BTW, the gas is cheaper :P
  4. A European Regional. Is it possible? The biggest problem will probably be finances. Madison Scouts came in 1988 BD did Europe several times Glassmen is coming this summer Cadets tried to come i heard Phantom had plans What if these corps al came the same year? Would it be less expensive for the corps? Would it be more attractive for potentieal sponsors? Is it better for the corps to go to Europe all together so that they will not have too much competition? just curious, what are you ideas about this and do you know if some of these corps ever consider to go to Europe together?
  5. The (younger) members will have to go to school again after august, so it's not possible for European corps to attend DCA finals. that's the main reason i think....
  6. Which day or summer you can remember, was just so d#mn hot? I remember Crossmen 2001, i think it was in Arkadelphia (or so?) Can't remember exactly how hot is was (around 110-115), but i DO know it was a rehaersel day. what are your experiencesand/or memories?
  7. The corps i teach and play is from the Netherlands. We compete in Drumcorps Europe (DCE) as wel as in Dcrumcorps Netherlands (DCN). Last year we came in 3rd wirh brass with only 0,1 behind # 2nd who had around 30 horns. This year we are playing Polovetsian Dances, Farandole, Hungarian Dances no. 5 and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. If you like i could send you an MP3 from our first ensemble. There is allready a small compilation of these songs. You can find them on www.juliana.org. Click on Media. It's in Dutch, but should be able to find them. Email me of you want an MP3. I will be glad to send it. Greetz, harrold@juliana. org
  8. Last year we had a small hornline (20) and we kept up with the big guys who had up to 34 brass. Does anyone have any suggestions to max out a small hornline. I'm curious what you guys think about this.
  9. I'm probably the only one who liked '99, so 1999-2000 for me
  10. Hi all! As you probably all know, Glassmen is coming to Europe this summer. What do you think. It's such a trip good for the corps? Personally i think it's a good impulsr for the members. I tell ya, the European drumcorps fans go crazy!!!! Ask any BD alum who ever went. But, is it good for the placement? Does a corps have to work harder when they go back to the US? Just curious what you all think.... take care,
  11. In the Netherlands, they held the paralymics (olympics for desabled) in, i think 1989. A group of people planned to make the biggest, all Dutch, drum & bugle corps, ever! They wrote to every drumcorps and people could sign up for this project. They held several practice day across the country and held a three day camp and the performed three songs (+drill) on the openings day. It was a great day. i.e: 40 cymbals, 50 soprano's 50 snares etc. etc. Maybe this is a good idea for the UK corps? I can forward you some information about the people who set this up back then.
  12. can anyone tell me which music notation has the brass brass sounds or with which program i can convert finals .mus files in more realistic sounds for brass?
  13. In Holland, and i think it's a regulation all over Europe, all the buses have this device that registrates the amount of hours a driver is on the road. For instance: when a driver drives for 8 hours, he has to take off for at least 3 or 4 hours. If not, there is a bog fine for the buscompany. ne time, we hired a bus, did the performace and then heard from the driver he wasn't allowed to drive anymore. We had to wait for 2 hours untill another driver arrived..... Ofcourse, in the US it takes like 6 or 7 hours to visit your parents, from here i could be in eithe, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris or London. ####, Europe is small :-)
  14. BTW, this is not the same song by Duke Ellingtion, recorded on the CD Money Jungle (BLue Notes rec.)
  15. I love the tue named: Song of India, not sure who the composer is, but it is played by several bands, cool song

  21. BD did enter a DCE show yesterday, in competition. They won wit 93.00 points. Ofcourse, this to European standards. Trust me, there was never a chance they would not win yesterday! Imagine. What is the chance, with all due respect, that Pioneer is going to beat Cavaliers in their next show? Anyway, it was a great night ofr Drumcorps in Europe, the crowd was amazing en so was BD. I even saw some people i knew from Crossmen '99 and since i still have problems with my visa to enter the US, this is the only div 1. drumcorps i see every five years.....Thanks!
