No it was visual actually. If I had to venture a guess, I would have said GE too though :) That was the only caption Madison took in 1988. They were 3rd in horns, 3rd in percussion, and 2nd in GE that night.

Hehe the thing I remember the most from that night, was the commentating(I think it was Bob Costas maybe? with some other guy). They had NO CLUE.....NONE as to what was going on!!!!! If they did, then they sure as #### fooled me BIG TIME. LOL they were thinking this was a SERIOUS thing and did not even get the joke when the guy was run over(more than once if my memory is correct), and when The Cadets wouldn't follow his lead, etc. I guess they were not informed by NBC executives beforehand as to who The Cadets were and to the comedy it was supposed to portray. I couldn't stop laughing just listening to them NOT have a clue even hours after it was over. Talk about classic.

I am with the majority that says '84 Cadets. Without question, the BEST hornline they have EVER fielded. Thick, rich, deep and the music was VERY entertaining. Total package from them. Just wish they would go back to this style sometimes and play something that was as entertaining as that show was to many of us. :(

I fully agree. Definitely consistent year in and year out. Just wish they had more volume at times is all. That's probably changing this year though with the addition of a few more horns. ^OO^

after posting on here 99 times and reading my responses...i think you might've figured out how this process works. Calling me out and trying to argue about this by inferring: "No you're wrong" will not change a thing. If you haven't noticed there is no right or wrong answer to this thread. I don't hear about this show very often and I don't come here very often. Especially in the off season. Hmm.....Maybe you should look and see when I joined perhaps? Did you fail to see this? I just recently came back to these boards within the last 3 days after only coming here maybe twice since before finals. All I wanted to know is whether they were changing or not. It has NOTHING to do with the #### G vs. Bb argument. I noticed a while back that SCV is selling their horns from this last season. Are they going back to G bugles or are they just getting a new supply of Bb horns? I would imagine that they are staying with Bb but I don't know. If they're staying with Bb, they might want to take a SERIOUS look at King. Those King horns that PR has sound pretty #### good!!!! ^OO^ I know, I saw(and heard hehe). Anyone who knows anything, please give us the scoop. Thanx.

^^^^ Agreed. Is it possible they won't make finals? Yes of course. It's also possible that the Indianapolis Colts won't make playoffs this year as well though. Probably not going to happen but not set in stone either. I have no doubt that SCV will get in without any problems.
