  4. John scruggs, addressing the Madison hornline standing at attention during basics- "You will hate me for the next half hour. You WILL be perfect. I will make sure of it. If you're not perfect... you will put down your ####### horns... and run. I am going to kick. your. ###." Someone in the back of the block- "Whatever, Scruggs! You're just a big ol' teddy bear!" Scruggs- "WHO THE #### SAID THAT!!!"
  5. courtesy of mr. ben potts- "and...and...a-and....and...DON'T GO YET!!!" "and...and......and CUT!..... ok, go ahead" "and...a-and.... and......corps ready haaaaaaaALT!!.... why'd you miss that!?" "back when I did high marktime at Glassmen..." *and my personal favorite, during basics once "ok, hornline, cut.... put down your horns.... pick some grass.... feel the grass... smell the grass... maybe even taste the grass... now SPIKE IT!! SPIKE THE GRASS!! THAT'S WHAT YOU GOTTA BE LIKE WHEN YOU MARCH!!!"
  6. you know how occasionally the long ranger would get staticy or cut into radio stations? once our long ranger cut into the howard stern show for about four seconds. "sopranos, be sure to *trails into static* so whose got the better body; your mother-in-law or your wife? *trails into static, then hysterical laughter by the whole corps.*"
  7. the scouts' colorguard apparently couldn't figure out how to drink water, cause they had at least one guy pass out a day for a while in july
  8. I'm sensing some confusion here about the Scouts show. It's suppose to depict a day in the life of an ancient tribal warrior. Things like the Aztecs and stuff. The opener is full of fast-paced high intensity music depict the hunt of food or something or maybe a battle with another tribe. The ballad is a time of reflection. Maybe going back to his family (which by the way I think is the best ballad I've heard for them in years) In between the ballad and the closer the corps is running their butts off!! In the closer imagine a huge bon fire with all the tribe dancing around it. It's a celebration or ritual or some sort. They have more notes in the closer than some corps have in their entire show and to my knowledge no other corps have attempted to have the entire horn line (even contras) triple tonguing a unison line at 168 beats per minute. I'm not saying that no one is giving them the credit that they deserve. But then again Mr. Roseander (sp?) is having them do some really hard stuff. I can't wait to see what the show looks like for finals.
  9. I haven't really heard anything about how the Scouts did this weekend. Please post your reviews, opinions, things you've heard from the Coon Rapids or the Menomonee shows...thanks.
