  1. Fantasia's choreographer, Mikail, is 36 and marching this year.
  2. I am a guard person, and from a guard standpoint they looked really young when I saw them. Young doesn't neccesarily mean inexperienced... but in this case, it might mean exactly that. They've probably shaped up since I saw them a week or so ago; which would be good because the flag line was outspinning the weapon line at that point. The work didn't seem overly difficult, but the performers looked way unsure of themselves in opening segments. To me, it doesn't matter if you can't do the work, just FAKE IT WELL! That brings me back to inexperience.
  3. I had seen SCV multiple times throughout the season, including quarters and semis, and nothing could have prepared me for what I saw on Saturday night. While the weather delay could have easily hurt their focus, they came on the field and performed something fierce. I think their performance took everyone by surprise; there was even a large standing ovation following their opener (which I'd never seen get such a reaction). They were ON for finals night. Flawless. After seeing Boston shortly after, I had a strong feeling that SCV had prevailed. SCV was the show of the night, in my opinion. I couldn't have imagined it.... they must be so proud!
  4. Oh, I'm positive that Scott Chandler was there in 1999. I guess, what I meant to say is that I didn't like that it was being redone. It is a copy of another show whether or not it was his idea originally because Blue Devils is an entirely different organization than Logan (although the membership may be similar :) . I think my wording was to severe, though... I just meant to state that it was hard to see such an original show be redone. It sort of losses its magic when it's something you've seen before.
  5. That was the first thing I noticed when I saw BD this year. James Logan did their "They Don't Horses Shoot They" show in 1999; and it has the same concept of a backward dance marathon that BD's show has this year. Truthfully, the fact that BD blatantly stole the idea from Logan sort of bothered me considering how innovative (and impresive) it was when Logan did it. I don't remember if the Logan show had narration, though...
  6. I just checked and I still can't find the SCV video from the SA evening show... am I missing something?
