I thought this year was much more entertaining than last year. Sorry to hurt anyones feelings! Compared to last year when I can't really remember too many shows (loved SCV and BD, both of which didn't score well but entertained, and Phantom which rocked and medaled!), this year I thought for the most part top 12 packed a a great deal of entertainment value. Along with Crossmens show, which I really enjoyed and wish had at least made finals.

I thought Spartans were undefeated head to head against ECJ this year?

My advice would to both ECJ and Spartans members is DO NOT POST ANYTHING NEGATIVE on this board! There have been a couple of posts from members on each side that really were not needed. Try to remember when your feelings are hurt by someones elses post and you start typing to 'get back at someone' you may be typing something you REALLY don't mean! Both corps should be proud of the seasons they had. ECJ is the DIV II World Champions for 2005, always will be, and nothing can take that away. Spartans are the Div II Divisional Gold Medal winners, always will be, and nothing can take that away. I am not saying it makes sense, but who cares, congratulations! Aside from all of the controversy, Div II/III was so strong this year! If the only show you were able to attend was one of the Div II/III finals week performances, you didn't miss out on a thing! Sitting in the stands all 3 days was a treat. This summer showed that these two divisions are not the lesser divisions in DCI, but competitive groups that just happen to have smaller numbers than Div I corps. The talent in all of these coprs was very impressive. Congrats to all of you, and thank you for providing all of us spectators with such great performances!

I was very surprised when I saw SCV Saturday night, after reading everything about the show. They were great! I also thought Boston did a good job, I have liked this show every time I saw it this season. Both corps should be proud of themselves, regardless of placement. I was not able to go to quarters or semi's so I can't speak for either corps performance on those nights, but I agree with the placement at finals. Thank you to all of the Div I corps for a great season!

Did you take any pictures of the Spartans? I haven't seen any, there are some of ECJ and Impule, and Spartans were on between them.

Spartans had a .5 penalty, rumor has it for playing too loud in warm up. No one else was penalized for the same thing, very strange. Take away the penalty and they won.

Great review! I agree with you about Spartans, where I was sitting we were very surprised ECJ was so close, most predicted a 2-3 point difference with the high score going to Spartans. Even though Cadets were the clear winners, we thought Crown would be closer than almost a 6 point difference. Boston was very good also, much better than most early reviews indicated. Great job by every corps, hopefully I will see them all again this season.
