  7. I'll be playing with 2 corps in Plymouth Light Brigade is ending their long illustrious run. This will be our last show. We're pulling out all the stops and it should be a great show. We're going out with a bang and should not to be missed. If you enjoy the baritone solo in the Chicago medley, it was me, if not , it was Terri Connelly! The Defenders are playing in our very first Plymouth show. We're very excited to be in the company of some of the great drum corps of our time. Our show is strong and we should be very entertaining. We put the show together in 13 full rehearsal in 13 months (plus some optional sectionals). We're looking to grow and are accepting new members in January at our open house. For more information contact Dale - the director, at: dale@defendersalumni.org or me (Steve) - the music director, at: steve@defendersalumni.org Web Site: http://www.defendersalumni.org/ Thanks, Hope to see you at the Plymouth show, Steve (aka "The Saint")

  10. Hi Donny, It's pretty close. Taken right from McBeth’s original. I just modulated into the last chorus to keep to keep from double-tonguing on “High Gs.” My daughter’s playing with the Defenders and I’m playing with Mass Brass! I wonder who my wife will be rooting for? Hope you enjoy it! Steve Dorgan Brass Arranger & Brass Instructor Defenders Alumni Corps
  11. Hey Dave. Sounds like your crankin' it up for Albany. It's always good to peak at the right time! Defenders had their last rehearsal last night, and I think we're ready. I'll let you know Saturday night at about 10:30! Good luck to Amoskeag. Steve
  12. It's worth a big cold one just to hear you guys admit it! I might even buy one for the Captain! You guys were pretty good too! Great rehearsal last night, especially Mikey! Nice tempos - Great kicks - Cool fills
  13. The Baris are happy to carry the sopranos in yet another performance.
  14. Mini Corps is alive and well in Massachusetts! Good luck to the Defenders. I know for a fact that they've got some players! My loyalties are mixed. My daughter's playing with Defenders (where I teach and arrange the music) and I'm performing with Mass Brass. If I lose to my daughter, I'll never hear the end of it! A good thing it won't happrn (this year!). "The Saint"

  16. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words and encouragement. The Open House went well. 5 new horn players. We had 39 horns at rehearsal with 4 regulars missing for a total of 43. We still have 14 people who have told me they're going to play. If half of you show up, we'll hit 50! We're looking for more, so if you're interested, let us know. We only rehearse once a month but the improvement is coming fast. In 5 rehearsals we've learned 5 tunes, all Defender classics. Maybe, Divergents, She's Not There, America The Beautiful, & Solitaire. We'll finish Brass Roots in May and St. Louis Blues in June. Then it's clean, clean clean ... "The Saint"
  17. Thanks, Dale. To follow up: We had 31 horns at rehearsal on Jan. 20 plus the 3 regulars that were missing. We also have commitments from another 6 or 8 (plus others on the fence). We'll get through Brass Roots (Doc Severinsen) and St. Louis Blues (old Defender favorite) over the next 2 rehearsals. Then we start cleaning! We still have openings in all sections. See you on Feb. 17 - The drum line will start on the 17th. Thanks, Steve
