  1. If you read the official announcement, it lists those pieces as musical selections and "inspiration". This probably means that we will hear very little of some of these pieces, or maybe not hear the actual pieces at all, but instead moments "inspired" by those pieces. I am confident that Michael Klesch and Lee Beddis will put it all together tastefully. Can't wait to see it.
  2. I've heard many different names for it. Song of Aeolus, Sol Fa, and Chorale VI, and any combination of those three. It is by Karl Jenkins and it's originally a mostly choral piece if that helps.
  3. Here's my division III breakdown. 1 Drum Major 36 Brass -12 trumpets -6 mellophones -12 baritones/euphoniums -6 contras 11 Battery -4 snares -2 tenors -5 basses 8 Pit 14 Colorguard
  4. 2 Drum Majors 80 Brass -27 trumpets -15 mellophones -25 baritones/euphoniums -13 contras 17 Battery -8 snares -4 tenors -5 basses 10 Pit 26 Colorguard
  5. I'll see you brass guys at the December camp. Can't wait.
  6. I heard that Crown's current guy is already pretty much out and that someone with ties to Star will be replacing him. I'll let you speculate as to who it is.
  7. You've got to be kidding me. Not only was Angel one of the most creative pieces of the year, it was one of the best. The "pauses" were what people like to call "choreography", and unless you have severe ADD then they didn't cause the audience to lose focus. The piece is full of emotion if you pay attention to the what the corps is doing and know what the song is about. Its all about being able to count on other people and this was very clearly portrayed. Because of the innovative movement and drill, Angel was one of the hardest things attempted this year and it turned into one of the two best ballads of the year (along with the Cadets doing Dancer in the Dark).
  8. I don't know if I would call it the best, but one of my favorite years was 99. This was the first time that the corps outside the top six had interesting shows. BD and SCV had two of the best shows in history, Cavies set up a three year run, Cadets played beatifully, Madison had their best show ever, and corps like crown and the crossmen had great shows. 99 is awesome from top to bottom
  9. Speaking of Whitacre, I would love to see a corps do either Water Night or Faith, Hope, Life, and Love.
