  2. Hello Dave

It's been a few month's. How are things? Do you do facebook?

  3. In 2012 the average age of Minnesota Brass's Hornline was 31.82 with 6 members over 50, 5 over 40 and 14 under 21, with everyone else falling inbetween marching the full show on the field. And of course we had our own G-man Roger doing his part in telling the shows story, so if you put him in the mix it even goes up a bit.
  4. Actually only twelve people in Minnesota Brass's fifty-six member 2011 hornline have marched in Junior Corps.
  5. The BRASS DUET at 6:40 (Cynthia/Dennis) and the MIXED DUET 7:10 (Tischhauser/Reimer) are actually Minnesota Brass not Kilities ensembles. Just to clarify.
  6. Ken's Flagline photo is the 1973 Americano's summer corps guard, without the rifle line, taken at Roosevelt Junior High School Gym in Appleton, WI. sometime in March or April.
  7. As an active marching member of Minnesota Brass since 1999, I do agree that our hornlines average age has become younger. However, presently for the 2011 season our average age buy section is 30 for trumpets, 28 for mellophones, 27 for baritones/euphoniums and 28 for tubas. We are marching seven members on the field that are over 50. I will also say that the younger the member, attendance is generally more of an issue. They lack the understanding of how their not being present affects not only them, but the complete ensemble.
  8. Minnesota Brass Inc. 3 DMS 24 Guard 8 Snares 5 Tenors 5 Basses 4 Cymbals 12 Pit 20 Trumpets 10 Mellos 6 Baris 6 Euphs 6 Tubas
  9. I also noticed that the Key change at Measure 40 didn't happen on the G mello 1 copy for "Ode To Joy". Should go to Eb Major, thus in measure 45 on the G mello 1 part it should be an Ab.
  10. All you need to do is scroll down to get the "Ode To Joy " parts

  12. Contact Brent Turner/Corps Director of Minnesota Brass (brentturner@edenpr.org). I know we have a tuba spot.
  13. Strutta As a member of Minne-Brass (one of the rest, who according to you didn't play anything difficult), I challenge any tuba/contra players and baritone/euphonium players of the other mini-corps to play the book we had. Try playing parts orginally written for tenor and bari saxophone on a brass instrument. Yes, we have accomplished trumpet players, however the other members of the group are also skilled musicians. Donny, thanks for acknowledging that we raised the playing field last year and for giving us credit for our harmonic and rhythmic content as well as our jazz ensemble voicings. I do disagree that the Renegades would have won easily without their mishap. You must remember we performed with one bari and one euph player missing because they were on the Minnesota Brass bus, which didn't get to Scranton in time. And with only one player on a part, adjustments had to be made at the last minute.
  14. Shadow7 I have always performed different pieces for each instrument and different pieces each year. My winning performance pieces were- 2002 BARITONE- Haydn Cello Sontina 2004 CONTRA- Mozart Oboe Sonata 2005 CONTRA- Mozart Horn Concerto #3 2003 BRASS DUET- Purcell Oboe Duet 2004 BRASS DUET-Rossari Cello Duet 2005 BRASS DUET- Rossari Viola Duet Solos can be 3 min. and Duets/Ens. can be 4 min.
