haha!!! i know exactly what you mean!!! An extra half an hour is sometimes a godsend....oh man- some of those mornings are rough ones...
Anyways- my opinion is that it did save time. By the time the scored were announced we were off and ready to leave. In the past we'd have a meeting after retreat then have to get out of uniform, put them up and put up the horns and then eat. Then gather everyone on the buses. Lack of retreat probably saved our corps a good hour to two hours. I personally liked not having to be all nasty and sweaty in uniform, and plus being out of uniform gives you several freedoms....
Also- someone mentioned not seeing the corps after you??....i definitely got to see the corps after mine all summer long....
