  1. That was really cool!!!! March Troopers 2007!!!!!!!!
  2. If you know you are going to march a DCI corps in 2007, march Troopers!! You will be part of history as one the greatest drum corps of all times makes its triumphant return. Crowds will go crazy night after night when they catch the first glimpse of the Long Blue Line!!! GO TROOPERS!!!!!
  3. My friends and I will hit Chicken Lounge one night. We'll have dinner at Carabba's one night as well. We will definitely check in at Lupo's too!
  4. I saw Magic's show 2x this past weekend. It is a very entertaining show, in my opinion. As soon as their hornline starts to gel a little more, I think you're going to see a nice upswing in Magic's scores.
  5. I just bought 3 new shirts, 1 hat and I made a donation! There is a great free recruiting poster on the site right now - please print it out and post it around your band rooms, etc. Let's go everyone!! Let's go Troopers!!!
  6. Does anyone know if the Wagon will be in Allentown? Also, does anyone know what the Troopers are doing re: recruiting members, hiring staff, etc.? I'm just really interested in the Troopers coming back at full strength next year! Thanks.
  7. The percussion scores will be particulary interesting seeing that Phantom has already beaten Bluecoats and Cavaliers in drums and word on the street is Cadets percussion is smokin'!
  8. I apologize for the negative comments about the other corps - that was uncalled for. Every corp's effort and creativity should be appreciated. Thanks for setting me straight.
  9. I don't recognize the drumhead - anyone have any guesses? It has to be Remo, but what? Also, notice the claw attachments on the front of the snares. Looks like they're going to have some kind of toy on the snares this year.
  10. I just can't wait to see SCV!!!! Their shows are always really exciting. Who wants to see part 2 of a cutesy, Cadets show? And if Regiment puts on another Tony-award winning Broadway show, I'm going to puke!!! I can't wait for some in your face, rip it up stuff from SCV!!!! DCI needs it!!! <I made an edit to your original post. Please refrain from name calling or attacking corps>--Matthew
  11. Lee: What was the secret to the improvement in the line? Was the staff "relentless", as you put it, throughout the season? Was it the fact that everyone knew they were in serious trouble in the beginning of the season and just worked their butts off all season? Thanks.
  12. Wow - Everyone jumped on Allentown and J. Birney Crum so quickly it made my head spin! And I love how everyone thinks the stadium next to their house is the best new place to have it!! People: Isn't drum corps about tradition to some extent? Allentown is to be revered. There are many memories there for alot of people! I have been going there since the late 80's. The park is awesome to watch corps warming up in and to just chill before the show. Obviuosly, this annual event means hundreds of thousands, maybe millions to the local economy. Since Allentown (via the school district) owns the stadium, maybe they come to an arrangement w/ DCI on contribution towards renovation in exchange for the elimination / reduction of stadium lease fees, police detail fees, etc. usually paid by DCI. Keep the faith in J. Birney Crum & Allentown!!
  13. I saw that - I can't tell if the reporter didn't know what he was talking about or whether there is a Wyoming Dept of Criminal Investigations? I am a little concerned about the upcoming results from the IRS and how much $ Troopwers might still owe. Troopers need to get past these financial headached once and for all and start recruiting for a full Div 1 corps for 2007.
  14. ** Anyone planning to march in 2007 should seriously consider Troopers. You can be a part of one of the greatest comebacks of all time!! Just think of the crowd reaction you would get at every stadium on tour!! There are thousands of fans out there who really want to see that Long Blue Line of about 72 horns, 28 guard and a great percussion section.**
  15. I really hope that is true. Just think how his investment and leadrship could re-energize the Troopers for 2007? Just think of 72 horns in the Long Blue Line and a percussion section led by a big name brought in by Cook! The crowds would go wild!!!!
  16. I've been going to Allentown for over 10 years now and I love it! It is a very special place for me. I just want to make sure I am not missing any famous / infamous hang-outs where corps fans congregate during the weekend. We went to the Chicken Lounge last year based on some recommendations from other corps people and it was cool. Any place else my friends and I should check out? Thanks!
  17. I'm really glad to see so many people interested in getting the Troopers back to full strength in 2007! I think the suggested camps in Idaho and Utah would prove very beneficial. Is the brand new facility in Casper capable of hosting camps? I would assume so, when bingo is not being held. If that is the case, maybe make best efforts to bring kids into Casper. To that end, how about sending Sabre Lines out to various locations for pick-ups? Does Troopers administration have to make the call right now whether they believe they can attract enough kids to camps in Wyoming or must they make the call now to set up camps in Wy, Ut, Id and maybe even Colorado? Even though Casper is "out there" geographically, I still think b/w the University of Wyoming and all the college and high school music programs in Wy, Ut, Id and Colorado (even w/ Blue Knights), there must be quality brass, percussion and guard to attract. Speaking of names on staff to attract kids - How about either Ralph Hardimon or Tom Float? Both are legends in marching percussion and both are geographically, relatively close. I think either one of those guys would create enough buzz for quality drummers to head to Casper.
  18. You are the new Troopers Director given the mission of fielding a quality 135 member Div I corps in 2007 - How do you go about it? Offer auditions in multiple cities? Reach agreement w/ U of Wyoming to offer credit for tour?
  19. That new Troopers Center is really cool! Building the the Bingo part into it is key for the future. I really hope Troopers can take advantage of this new Center and come out with 135 strong next year!! Can you imagine the crowd reaction at each stadium? The only thing louder would be the Long Blue Line of horns!!!
  20. I really don't want shows that are too Broadway. Phantom had a greatly executed show, but it was like a Broadway show. Same thing w/ Cavs, especially the baseball game, give me a break! Give me some dark stuff / in your face stuff. There is a difference between entertaining and too Broadway'ish.
