  1. Once you get through the clarification process (which Nancy described) then everyone knows what is suppose to be where. Then, repetition creates muscle memory which creates consistency.
  2. The hilton does have a lobby bar but we have coolers as well like any good Drum Corps. There will be plenty of people if someone needs a ride to a "package" store. Some 7-11 stores will sell beer but supermarkets do not (for the most part) and your correct restaurents will not sell alcohol as take out.
  3. Jim that is last years line up, they said the new one should be up any day now. You guys are staying at our hotel this year. The Saturday night Lobby party is a blast.
  4. The Defenders Alumni Corps was very honored to have Chris Tomsa in town to work with the corps as we finalize our show for the Alumni Spectacular on November 20th in Plymouth, MA. The corp will be debuting MacArthur Park, played by the 75 Madison Scouts, and written by Chris Tomsa for the corps, at the November event. Chris was a member of the 1975 Madison Scouts and also the baritone soloist for this piece. Each year the Defenders try and add a "drum corps classic" to their repertoire and this year it was MacArthur Park. It was a very exciting day for the corps. There was lots of energy and excitement as Chris took the corps through the chart he recreated in memory of his mentor Ray Baumgartd. Chris told the corp he was honored that this classic piece of drum corp music was again being played. Needless to say, the Defenders are honored to bring this great piece of music back to life. At the November event the corps will also feature such notable tunes as Divergents (Purple Lancer 74 Opener) and Legend of The One Eyed Sailor (BD 76). This is a great venue. Intimate and drum corp friendly. If you’re not attending consider taking the trip to Plymouth. Here is a picture of Chris working with the baritone line at yesterday's rehearsal.
