  1. Not sure what you mean by symphonic music debuting in 1968, but Hurcs concert in 1967 was Rhapsody in Blue which strongly influenced John Sasso to use Am. In Paris in 68. Skyliners did Tenement Symphony way back in 1962. Jerry Shellmer wrote the 1969 perc show, and introduced the horizontal glockenspiel to DCA in 69. Orus Cavnor wrote the perc charts for 68.
  2. You are one diligent individual. I wonder which songs he wrote. Nice work again Andy.
  3. Had you joined Garfield sooner, you'd know this great man. Once he's named, if you look at that picture again, you'll say "Wow, that is him"!!! I auditioned for him at Sky in early 75 after being out of the activity for 7 years. Needless to say, the lip was very questionable. I struggled to play the scale. He didn't turn me away though, he said, "I can tell it was once there" and smiled. He then turned me over to Sidemouth Richardson and we went out into the hall of the legion post in Secaucus and started learning Elks. Got to stand in that famous arc right next to Ednie who I knew from St. Rocco's. Things didn't work out though and I realized it was time to put it down.
  4. I think I see a very large potato bug above the guy in the white hat.
  5. OK, I think I'm sure who #4 is. I did march with him at Selden, but I haven't seen him since 1975 when he was with Sky. Is this St. Joe's contras, or Cabs? The Hawaiian shirts are used in parades by St. Joes. I know that much.
  6. Poughkeepsie Pacers are out, I think they had white uni tops. Not the same color as her hair. Garfield I believe, didn't have females in 69 yet. Don't know the color of the Joanettes uniforms. it's not St. Ritas, because Puppet had to seek her out. Bridgemen even as St. Andrews didn't wear red. I know because I helped sell Selden's uniforms to them in their beginning. After that, they went banana's. That leaves the Boston Crusaders or Joanetts. Both from Mass. If she's a Jersey gal, that's a hell of a commute. I could be wrong in all this though, and it wouldn't be the first time.
  7. Here's a few hints: Position Corps Score 1 Boston Crusaders 75.900 2 Garfield Cadets 71.200 3 St. Rita's Brassmen 69.150 4 Poughkeepsie Pacers 62.800 5 Bridgemen 59.400 6 Joanettes 51.850
  8. Is that the one with the same last name as Archie Bunker?
  9. I'll bet you won a few of them too Tony. I'm not really unhappy about them. If the admins want to move my OT Dream stuff, they can.
  10. At least your guard made it to the show Andy. Mickey always liked high profile corps and the local Jersey crews. Oh, and also those high profile corps in blue skirts. Many times, he'd pull someone from way out of the area that the locals weren't used to seeing every week. That was always a treat for me. He even had the Kilties in the line-up in 1954. Being in the Dream was a hoot, standing for the results wasn't always pleasant. I won't make excuses for anything, and I'll always love that crowd. A very well informed crowd. My only major dissapointment with the Dream, was I never got to see that incredible 1966 show. P.S. Loretto was in the 61 Dream, along with Kevins, Selden, Bracken Cav's and the Bon Bon's. 11. Yes, like Labor Day weekend is the height of the hurricane season in the tropics, and while the Mouse hasn't seen a major storm, hurricane Charlie hit land with 109mph winds on 8/13/04 and went right up through Orlando. Hurricane Francis passed just south of the area on 9/5/04, exiting the state with wind speed up to 105mph. Try wearing a shako in that.
  12. Yeah! I agree. I had to resort to actual work! <gsksun4/not asap>
  13. Two guys from the Beverly Cardinals. gsksun4 or asop's fables
  14. I should have gotten that one. Must have been those darn boots that distracted me. Oh well............... gsksun4
  15. Ah Geez........ Lillian Gaudett.................. Time for a cobweb check....................... I guess nobody can identify the guard gal in the middle? gsksun4
