  1. While I'm just as excited for Revo as anyone, they are not judged on the same sheets as Magic or Pioneer.
  2. HYPE may have had thier ups and downs in recent years, but previous placement does not determine how well a corps will do this season. Although I have not seen them yet this season, they obviously are doing well. This *may* be one of their strongest corps since 2000. Why do you think Fever has a better shot than anyone else? Previous years? I love Fever, don't get me wrong, but they've had a few up hill battles this year within their organization (and responding quite, well, btw). I'd love to see them place well, also. It will also be interesting to see how Revolution stacks up when they are up against some of the other higher scoring corps. And Dutch Boy does have a great show this year....not to mention the coolest new uniforms!! The Div2/3 tour should be exciting!
  3. Slightly off topic, but isn't Legends from Portage, Michigan? I know they only did a few standstill performances the last couple of weeks...looks like something happening there.
  4. They did take a year off, but to say they are "back to nothing" makes no sence to me. Did you see them last year or have you seen them this season? Based on scores, etc...they are far from "nothing".
  5. <**> thanx for the history lesson. I was refering to the fact that its a new year...new show...probably new or different performers in the pit and different music...SO, determining approps levels may be a work in progress to get everything right.
  6. Try not sitting so close to the front. Maybe if you are further up it wont bother you as much...or turn down your hearing aide.... I'm just kidding!!!! Anyway, it is early, so lets at least allow the corps to work out the kinks before we ash too much. Seriously, we have several weeks left :)
  7. You are right, they are not at the stadium lot...those are for loading and unloading only. The main parking (when not in the warm-up/performance schedule) is a few blockes away at the Zoo and near the State building since the 'usual' parking is where the new stadium is currently under construction. A majority of the busses, truckes, etc. are parked there. Regardless, the parking situation is not directly related to the corps that are performing in Indy...
  8. LOL have you seen the parking lots for BOA? The regional has 30+ bands....many with 18 wheelers. Grand Nationals has 90+ bands over the 3 days with the same scenario. Not much different, sorry, but its not.
  9. We can agree to disagree. I'm not sure where you are from, but I live 15 minutes from the dome and there have not been any issues with the parking situation for the marching events that have been held while construction has gone on. Yes, it is a little further away, but everything has worked fine.
  10. This is more likely the reason. Just because a new stadium is under construction nearly next door is not going to effect what corps are going to this show. Besides, even if it is not an ALL Div 1 show doesnt mean its not going to be a great show. There are many great Div 2/3 corps and "all-age" corps out there...so go see them!
  11. Well, since I've done brass and guard...I guess that leaves percussion. I'd love to be top bass :)
  12. Well, no...this discussion is about TIES, so in the situation I suggested, the end result would be a tie. Yes, it is possible that a corps could drop to another placement altogether, but that is a different discussion.
  13. So if corps A has a great run in prelims and places first, then has a bad run in finals...while corps B had the performance of their lives and ties corps A in finals, that means corps A should just win because they won prelims? Thats crazy!!!! Of course there could be other factors, but that doesn't seem to be the best method, IMHO If there is a tie...they should perform again LOL <**>
  14. Obviously, Fever does look much different than most groups and I think it actually works for them. It took me a little time to get used to it when I saw them for the first time, but I think the grey and maroon works very well. What is it that makes you say they are not good choices? Becasue you just dont like those colors, or some other reason? Just curious...
  15. Without a doubt, no one can compare to the look that FEVER has!
  16. There are so many incorrect statements here from a meteorological stand point...it drives me nuts!!!! Regardless, there are many pros and cons to Finals being in Indy. Just the fact that the city actually WANTS this is good in itself. I don't really see attendance #'s going down wiht the number of people in the Midwest that follow the activity. Maybe people from further away will choose not to travel, but I'd be surprised if it is not balanced out.
  17. Having Divisions is not a bad thing, although I'm not sure I agree with the criteria for Div2/3 (thats another discussion). I would like to see the top div2/3 battle it out with the div 1's, though and create 25 once again. There definately are some great 2/3 corps that would give a few div 1 corps a decent level of competition.
  18. H.Y.P.E. came from Conquror II.... The name change happened in 2000, but still basically the same corps, I believe.
  19. Highland, IN in 1997 is another....I think they mostly stayed in Indiana and Illinois shows, though.
  20. While I'd vote for not changing the name at all (I mean, The Girls Gang from Europe had guys in it)...I would go with Bandits. Its the closest thing to keeping the recognition and identity of who they are.
  21. If it can be brought to life by a marching band, I'm sure it can be done by a corps as well!
