Actually, I think he did. That whole opening set kind of evolved over the season. I remember Zingali saying "I wrote this set with my eyes closed!" But certainly Tom was written on the endzone from the beginning. He was our best marcher. The day before semi's they pulled him out of practice alone to travel to the stadium to do some dry runs from the tunnel by himself, just to make sure he'd make it. In the beginning of the season we just went to our set. Sometime in the first few weeks, 3 members invented this little drill where they spun around each other etc. The staff pointed it out to the rest of us, and everyone started to make stuff up. As long as we were consistant and made the set, anything went. I think that was the staff's intention from the beginning. I remember Tom's opening set was different depending on the venue, and I remember him starting all over the place. He started about 30 rows up on the 50 in the stands for the victory run at finals, and yeah he made it.
